Does anyone know of a plug-in , or program that is free which i can convert a .wmv or .avi file to an mp3?

Here's how to do it with VirtualDubMod:
Open the avi, go to Streams > Stream List. If the stream is MPEG layer 3 choose Demux, if it's PCM choose Save WAV. With wmv it's more difficult. The easiest way is to play it with winamp using the diskwriter as output. This will produce a decoded wav version of the audio. Afaik there's no way to extract the compressed windows audio part. |
