A list of 1.0 compatible extensions is here.

Winamp can be controlled with FoxyTunes

I hope that's what you wanted.

Well, it realy worked....Thank you for the tip! And nobody died....[joking]
Now I need to write some "bula" that allows dummy listeners to install the FoxyTunes extension!
BTW I could not get to the compatible extension list or to the site you linked to your answer...is it such a busy server?
I got Foxy searching on Google...

Nice. I have been waiting for this for a while. I was using the 1.0PR, then RC1, then RC2, so this update isn't very much different from what I was using, but it's nice to be finally using the full 1.0.

It seems the mozilla site is getting swamped by the number of peoples trying to access it. I can't get into the updates site. Oh well, I guess it should be better by tomorrow.

There won't be any changes, just bug fixes from the PR.

Yeah, there's a (hidden) single window mode, some tabbing tweaks and a load of bug fixes from the PR.

Well, I just upgraded to Firefox 1.0 and do you know what totally sucks? I mean totally SUCKS???

THIS is what totally sucks, and there are apparently no updates for any of those extensions at all. And the worst part is that I can't even use FoxyTunes to control Winamp or my favorite Noia Extreme skin (theme).

I mean what the hell? An upgrade with no backward compatibility? WTF is that all about? Have the devs at Mozilla.org lost their minds??

Sorry. I'm angry and in need of venting I guess. On the upside, load time is quicker.

Well I am using FOXYTUNES to control both Winamp and WMP and works as predicted. They realy do it over 1.0+.
Had no probs installing it and running it under Widows (yes I took out that N, because is that what we are related to no support at all).

You can probably get them to work by editing the %Application Datafolder thing%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*random string*\extensions\extensions.rdf file. You need to change the properties for all of the existing extensions from a value of em:maxVersion="0.10" to read em:maxVersion="1.0". This allows pretty much all of the extensions to work.

I was really hoping this version would fix the problems with websites mistaking firefox for an old version of Netscape (such as launch.com)... They really should consider adding IE emulation so I don't have to launch IE to use windows update.

On the positive side, tho, I love how I can now force links that-try-to-open-in-a-new-window to open in a tab instead.

This is a sig of some nature.

You can't use Windows Update without ActiveX. And if ActiveX reaches Firefox, I'm moving on to another browser.

There _is_ however a Windows Update plugin that adds an option to the Tools menu that launches IE and goes to Windows Update. Pretty nifty.

BTW: If you want sites to think you are IE or something, you can get a User Agent changing plugin. (Or hell, you could change it manually in about:config).

Nevermind. I thought there was an about:config setting.

Oh well, just get the User Agent Switcher extension.

Well the plugin bypassed the filter, but unfortunately, the video won't play... And I thought for a moment there that I could finally ditch IE for good. Still a handy plugin tho (for those biased websites).

So I take it that's a lot like the Official Firefox CD? Are you bundling extensions or something?

And I used to like Opera, but it's not noticably faster, harder to use and comes with a billion-and-one features that if I did want I could just get an extension for. And its page rendering cocks up far more frequently than Mozilla's.
