Thumbs up

I just found this thread thanks to Mr Jones from a post I had made in the classic skins forum. IPlayTheSpoons, this is some very nice work! I run a small low power radio station using Winamp and the Sound Solution plugin, and had posted trying to find a skin that would work in full screen mode. Your skin almost perfectly fits the request, the only thing I could use is larger buttons for my touch screen monitor - maybe a BB version for big buttons???

A number of smaller stations and netcasters will find this skin VERY useful, keep up the great work!

if you are familiar with Dynamic Library, you would know what i am talking about. you could have a dragable line, save (100px about...or whatever min value) for the left aligned media library and 100px for the right aligned playlist. it would snapto opposite side when you drag the line to the min width value of the opposite component.

thankyou iplaythespoons for the skin.

[edit]sorry iplaythespoons, i read it earlier in the day, and just got around to posting, i forgot what u posted, my bad...oops[/edit]

Weird question
I didn't know what he meant with the third question either.. hmm.. I think the layout you currenly have is great. It may be possible he ment that the area were the Media Library is put could have been slightly smaller. This will be possible when you can drag the bar between the ML and the Playlist Editor.

Note on the checkmark not vanishing
The checkmark does vanish when closing the Configuration window while the Equalizer tab is open. But if you select any other tab (Configuration and Color Themes) the checkmark also vanishes since the Equalizer isn't visible anymore. This is because iPLayTheSpoons uses a lot of script code from the default Modern Skin (it is in fact based on this skin). And the default Modern Skin also did this when changing tabs in the drawer.

What can I say... That's a really great skin

I found some bugs I would like to report:

1. When you switch to SingleGUI from the WinampModern skin and you have the equalizer open then it's not closeable in SingleGUI. In order to work as expected you have to have the equalizer closed before you switch skins.

3.The vis options menu doesn't appear to work

2.Sometimes the video/vis window is docked sometimes it not. I won't go to much details because I still haven't figured out what causes but it appears to have something to do with the default WinampModern skin options

I would like also to mention something else. Wouldn't it be a good idea to have SingleGUI to keep it's settings in a seperate place than winamp modern skin? For example by clicking "re-attach video window" in SingleGUI nothing happened but when I switched back to WinampModern the video window was attached while I had it detached.

I guess that many of singleGUI bugs are caused by the fact that singleGUI shares settings with the standard winampModern skin. And since propably noone is going to start with a clean winamp.ini and studio.xnf file they may experience problems. So my humble suggestion is to make singleGUI completely independent from WinampModern.

Of course I could be wrong and again thanks for the hard work you put on that skin

When I restart Winamp with SingleGUI selected as current skin, the window doesn't remember it's size. It is reset to a very tall, but narrow window.

Hi Iplaythespoons

your skin is one of the most amazing thing that i ever saw in winamp!!!!

i hope in a future to see a working version of winamp with this skin (fully working), PLEX and ml_ipod..... that will be WINAMP perfect edition!!!

i have a bug

when i stay in video mode i can't use the keyboard shortcuts on playlist window....

see this --->

1) library mode and video window attached over the playlist

2) select a song on playlist

3) hit 'q' nothing happen... hit 'canc' nothing happen

I hide the video window and all return fully working :|

cianca. he JUST RELEASED ONE, WTF?

and minus the fact that the posts do count here, it is also annoying/extra stuff on page that doesnt have to be there. one long post is a lot cleaner than 5 difft smaller posts.

I would have to agree...It seems like everyone is posting tons of little bugs and if I were designing this skin that would be very confusing. It would be much more effecient for everyone if you would consolidate your posts.

Talking Hosting the skin!!

I have now uploaded the .wal file on my web-server. Now all people can get to this file from here while it's still in the BETA stage:

SingleGUI-10006.wal (557 kB)

PS! I really hope iPlayTheSpoons doesn't mind!

Beta 10007

I dont much mind if you host the file, just keep it up to date

Uhhh, new beta!! wooo. Updates include:

resizable playlist...way cool
some bug fixes...still a bunch left

uhh, to anyone requesting layout changes...as ive said before...no

milkdrop IS supported, it works just like regular AVS in singlegui

shortcut keys being broken in winamp's fault, not mine...when the project started, steve said he was gunna get the programmers to work on component focus issues...but if you keep up with your winamp news you know why that isnt happening

have fun...NEW bugs please

/!\ bug: When i'm using that skin on dual screen and I maximize it , it will always get maximized on the first monitor, wherever the window is located at first.

Else, this skin is great, i think i'll use it when i manage to organize my music correctly

Good work with the resizable playlist.

A couple of issues with it: It needs an arrow when you hover over it. Also it looks bad as you drag it. Like it flickers alot. That goes with all the bits you can drag too...

Ok, I don't know how many of these bugs you already know of:

1.) Very weird problems with video window. I run this skin with the video/visualization window attached and open, but when I try and play a video, the file loads and I hear audio, but no video window. (The visualization keeps going) I try and bring up the video window from the View drop-down window, but it doesn't do anything.

2.) You can only use the "Jump to file Extra" plug-in (Hit 'q' to enque a song) on the playlist if you click the arrow to close the video/visualization window.

The playlist can only be resized horizontally, not vertically. It would be cool if this was possible (I'm using in_tv to watch TV, and having a "larger" video panel while being able to access everything else in the ML would ROCK). And perhaps you can add a resize cursor to the dividers.

No, this isn't a bug report, or a request, or me nagging for the next version.

I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks for breathing life into Winamp with this beautiful skin.

Thanks iplaythespoons, i agree. this has breathed life into winamp!

bugs are minute and not a big deal. however,
ONE verrrrrrrry small request for a future feature.... would it be possible for the media library view to scroll to what's currently playing (like in itunes or foobar) it would make a world of difference for me and i would be much abliged.

the work is amazing please keep it up.
