ipod shuffle playlist question

i just got my shuffle, and i couldnt stand itunes and thank god i found this =) anyways just one thing i don't like about this plugin...theres no way to tell the order the songs are on the shuffle?...for instance if i just wanted to put a few albums on my shuffle and listen to them in order (you CAN turn shuffle off on the shuffle) how would i know its in the right order without actually listening to it first? thanx

Dragging and dropping the files into winamp does not preserve order. This makes it tough to listen to the audio books I have. I have gotten around this by clearing the shuffle and adding the files one by one in the correct order, but this is a bit tedious. If there could be a way to change order it would be great. Thanks.

BTW: My shuffle is now useful, not quite perfect, but so much better than itunes! Mlipod rocks.

This feature is forthcoming. The current release only has basic ipod shuffle support. The next release will have loads of shuffle-releated love.

This plugin don't work very well with my Shuffle, but! I have one idea/comment/feature for the next release...(it's about PlayLists and tracks order).
I don't know if this feature it's usefull for all iPod users... but, i think it's interesting for Shufflers.
Listen Will!!

I saw that some times, you create an .OLD iTunesDB file in the iTunes folder (to restore them, I guess).
Well.. What happen if you create several Playlists in the Winamp ML (grouping albums) and then... these PlayLists are saved with diferent extension or name into the iPod?? (same audio files, but many diferent iTunesDB files)
For example:
  • iTunesDB_80s
  • iTunesDB_U2
  • iTunesDB_Favorites
Or
  • iTunesDB.01
  • iTunesDB.02
  • iTunesDB.03
There are many iTunesDB files, BUT!! only one of them.. (select by the user) has the correct name: iTunesDB (this one, will be used by the iPod).

By this way, when you connect the iPod and open Winamp, you can choose the playback order of your songs. (changing in a list of iTunesDB saved files, and renaming to iTunesDB one of them again.

The only negative point, it's when the user deletes one or more files, you need to refresh all iTunesDB files.
I think that it's easy to implement... what do you think?
Good Job Will!!!

OK cool, but just to make sure: dragging a song up or down right in the iPod playlist changes the order played, correct?

Shuffle Support for Will

Sounds like us shuffle users need to kick in a few more bucks to help with the shuffle development...

Thanks in advance for the upcoming Shuffle enhancements...

Peace,

JMS

Autofill is coming in 1.15. You can try out a sneak preview of autofill here currently it doesn't take any notice of last played dates, but this will change for the final release.

Hopefully, with autofill and shuffle last played dates in, shuffle support should be nearing complete. I am thinking about putting in a system to let you choose the main shuffle playlist.

All donations are very much appreciated and go towards sustaining me at college.
