Is there an Ogg Theora plugin for Winamp?

I have searched on google and the forum search and can't find any info about this. I have downloaded a theora vid of the space shuttle Discovery launch from Wikipedia.

I downloaded the theora directshow filters from http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/ but don't know how to use them. How do I use the directshow filters, or is there a plugin to play theora videos?

Run the installer.

If the video doesn't play go to Preferences (click on the main Winamp window, then press CTRL-P) > Plug-Ins > Input, select Nullsoft DirectShow decoder, Configure and add ;OGG to the extension list.

Problem with the illiminable ogg directshow filters. When I have it enabled, Winamp crashes when I press stop or next while playing an ogg vorbis file. I have disabled the filters for now.

Edit: I am looking for a tool to convert theora video to wmv or other winamp-supported format. Is there any?

Without working DirectShow filters? Tough (mencoder maybe, see below).

I'd play them in VLC or MPlayer, they don't need DirectShow.

VLC is a lot more user friendly, MPlayer doesn't even have a GUI by default but it comes with an encoder that may be able to convert ogg theora into another format (if you feed it the right command line).

Hello,

I have installed the "Ogg Vorbis, Ogg Speex, Ogg Theora, Ogg FLAC directshow filter" v.0.81.15562 32-bit (www.xiph.org/dshow/) and add ";OGG" to the in_dshow.dll plug-in, but it doesn't work.
I can't see an video with Winamp (v.5.55 2353).
I only hear it.
With Windows Media Player v.11 and Media Player Classic it works.

Host: WinXP 64-bit
Samplevideostream: http://live-radio.ru:8111/video.ogg

Somebody has an idea?

Yeah, Winamp likes it's .ogg to be audio only. Replace ;ogg with ;ogv in the dshow list and add ?.ogv to the end of the URL.

That worked for me, the video was upside-down, but that's a different problem.
