It may indeed be something with the new update, I really ain't sure. Some users reported that disabling the Media Library (gen_ml.dll) made the problem go away, others said that just removing the Portable Media Player plugin made the crash disappear (which is why I suggested that, but apparently your crash is caused by something else).

One user reported that updating the video card drivers fixed the issue, so you could try that:

This user reported that the crash didn't occur when using the classic skin instead of the modern:

Are you using the modern skin? If so, are you using any desktop enhancing utilities, perhaps? (like Samurize, WindowsBlinds, etc.)
These sometimes tend to conflict with the Winamp modern skin engine.


All info provided may give a clue. A HijackThis log may give some insight.
