Winamp 5.21 does not play WAV

Hi all,

I updatet my older Winamp Version to the Version 5.21

Suddenly, no WAV files can be played. I installed then Version 2 and Version 5.0. Both are playing all extensions. Only the newest version plays all but WAV.
It determines the title of the song, but not the lenghth. The lenght is always a questionmark.
I checked all Options, but they are identical ti Version 5.0, which works.

So I'll stay with 5.0 until I know the answer to this problem.

Does anyone has an idea?

Thanks alot

Georg

Hi,

From the known bugs thread:
Quote:
-in_wave v3.0 doesn't support riff-wav's (ie. mp3 with wav header) or any codecs not supported by libsndfile library (eg. dsp truespeech or aud) | old in_wave from 5.13 *
(preliminary fix available in 5.21, requires setting up manually - info)
If that's indeed the issue you are experiencing, Winamp 5.22 will fix your issue.

See the known bugs thread for temporary workarounds.

Good Winamp plugins by Joonas, DrO and shaneh.

Thank you very much for our quick answer. Now I know, thats not my fault in the options settings.
I think its easier to use 5.0 until 5.22 comes, as to make the changes manually.
So I wait for the new release.

Thanks

Georg

Here's the full quote...

If you need support for mp3-layered riff wav, or another codec not supported by libsndfile, then it would probably be easier to use in_wave.dll from 5.13 (as linked to above), but note that it doesn't support multi-user profile setups.

I personally prefer to use the in_dshow workaround method, but yeah, it does take a few extra seconds to set it up manually, heh.
