-> Updated german language file (again) to v1.77.

My explorer context menu is messed up and preferences doesn't do what I exspect it should do. I know that there is/was a problem (mentioned in the 5.34 beta thread) never installed a 5.34 beta though. Using Winamp 5.33 (clean install) at Windows Vista - after that I did a upgrade to JTFE 0.99.1.

In addition to this I sometimes (not able to reproduce) get some interspersed ? in the playlist entry path when I enqueue files from windows explorer.

Just wanted to let you know. Should I update to the latest beta?

What version of Winamp are you using? 5.34 beta, 5.33, older?
What's your Windows OS?
etc (see first post in thread for information required).
It works in 0.99 and 0.97.x
Winamp version: 5.34 beta build 1178
OS: Win XP SP1

Yeah, I do want it to close on enter or shift+enter. It's just very handy to be able to enqueue things and close the box with a single action rather than doing alt+q and then escape.

The "interspersed ? in the playlist entry path when enqueuing files from windows explorer" issue was caused by a compiler bug.

It's actually still in 5.34 beta 1195, and seems to affect Vista mainly (was the reason for why CD Burning didn't work on Vista), but although less likely, could also manifest itself under Win2k/XP.

As far as I know, it's fixed in the latest internal 5.34 beta.
[edit] and is fixed in 5.34 public beta, build 1239 [/edit]

As for the "explorer context menu is messed up and preferences doesn't do what I exspect it should do" problem... could you please be a bit more specific?

thanks to those who've updated the translations so quickly (i'll bundle them in the next build - will be a mini bug fix release)

roytam1: i think i know the cause of it being related to the up/down key fix (i think) - will do a test build for you to see if my thoughts are correct (is really hard to test things like that out myself)

Wolfgang: nice catch - was related to the cleanup of that code in general, guess i just over generalised the cleanup of things, heh

i don't know why but the site image has been reverted to a state from well over a month ago (nothing on my side of things so i don't know wtf has gone on). will be re-uploading everything again in a bit

[edit]
have re-uploaded all 44 installers and relevant page changes which were incorrect - guess the main hosting for the site was reset to an older cached image from a month ago for some reason *shrugs*

Russian Language v1.77

Hi, Dro.
Good new verson. And... catch jtfe_Russian.ini for new version.

P.S.
Are you planning add to jtfe_lang.ini next strings:
1. by Hotkeys ("Playlist: Remove duplicate entries", "General: ...", e.t.c.)
2. "Load playlist into queue..."
3. "Save current queue..., "Save search results..."
4. and "%d ms"
?

P.P.S.
I try TipTop, much better then gen_tips, but a little bugy:
1.tooltips sometimes disappear (i think when cursor over Cue or AAC entires)
(then I need manualy switch off-on for restart it)
2.if mouse cursor on 'thin line' on top or bottom playlist (under last entire in playlist & over first entire in playlist), then tooltips coordinates is 0,0 and display track info hiding in this 'thin line'

Sorry for ugly english

regarding the untranslated parts... #2-#3 i've just done, #1 i'll do after replying (though due to the way that the ghk plugin works i don't think it'll reflect the change on the fly and would need a winamp restart)

#4, not sure how useful that would be since i thought 'ms' was a commonly accepted time scale for things.

re: tiptop
there might be a few quirks when there's no data for the item being hovered over and the code then reverts to hide mode (need to look at that a bit more since there's a crash bug as well i found this morning when there's nothing in the playlist).
the positioning at 0,0 should never happen (since there's blocking code in place to fix that when the tooltip is created, etc) but might be related to the other issue

0.99.1a (Build 395) is out:: release info (having issues with uploads to the main site currently)

------------------------------------------------------------

Changelog:
  • Fixed the basic shell enqueue and play not working (oops)
  • Fixed a weird issue with the width generation for the scrollbars on some of the preference pages
  • Fixed shift+enter and ctrl+enter handling on the JTF dialog (related to other fixes in 0.99.1)
  • Fixed searching not working for unicode strings on XP (related to the up/down fix of 0.99.1)
  • Updated language file to v1.8 specs
This was basically marked as a bug fix only build hence the 'a' denotion in the build (just incase anyone is wondering the weird nature of the build numbering )

i've updated the installer (english us, german, polish and russian v1.8 language files - thanks guys!!) and the download is back onto the main download site.

also as a note since i forgot to mention it, any language files from before the 1.5x specs will stop being distributed in the plugin installer from 0.99.2+ so if anyone who uses those translations or wants to update them, then please do so. is why i've finally gotten around to updating the Language Page (and the other few jtfe related pages as i can do with a short amount of time )

Re: 0.99.1a (Build 395)

I installed the latest version (v0.99.1a (Build 395)) of DrO's 'Jump To File' (JTF)

Running back through the bugs I have posted …
  • Note that there are still some interrelated Next On Stop bugs,
but as I understand it the fixes for these bugs are on the NOS side.
See NOS thread for the most current information on such bugs.
  • Bug #10 - FIXED
  • Bug #11 - Number accidentally skipped
  • Bug #12 - FIXED
Nice work DrO!

There were also a few Feature Requests posted along the way …Thank you DrO!

Loong ago (just before i went to a nice refreshing vacation ) there was kinda bug with the JTFE focus. After installing the new issues of WinAmp 5.34 (1239) & JTFE 0.99.1a it became another green FIXED

Thanks a lot (though it could really have been a modern skin problem or something).

I just wanted to repeat the 2nd question from the post above. Does the unicode search work? I.e. if i search for, say, Преслава (hope this looks right here, but if it doesn't, it's just another unicode string ), the results are all the tracks which have an 8-letter unicode word in the title...

And if it doesn't work, will it? At all?

polux: cool, will update that when i get home

giovannibgr: i think i'd fixed the focus issue in 0.99.1 (the current 1a build definitely had the fix in place) - not sure why i didn't log it down, heh (was related to the newer jtfe taking over more control of the jtf dialog)

based on what has been reported, i believe unicode searches should work (based on posts from roytam1 and a few others earlier on). it's not something i can directly check since i don't know what i'd need to type, etc i can only take people's word for things working correctly, heh

The search may work on unicode filenames, i haven't tried it. All my filenames are good ol' ASCII, the unicode is in the id3v2 only. And there is where the search fails.
As i said, if i enter a random unicode string with 8 characters, the search will return all the unicode titles that contain words with >= 8 characters. For comparison, the same search in the ML works just fine (only the (super)strings matching the criteria are returned)...

PS: It's possible that the other guys did their searches in their OS's language, which is not exactly an unicode search. In my case, i'm trying to look for a cyrillic name, whilst having greek Windows charset.

updated installer with the spanish update from polux is now on the site (now that the site is back up). i've also updated the known issues part with a known quirk about the horizontal scrollbar on the JTF dialog (has been needing a recode of that for years - was one of the parts of the 0.96ff code that remained intact at the time of the 0.97x rebuild series)

giovannibgr: gotcha, for the moment, unless the OS is defined correctly then no, it won't be correct. as for when, that involves me re-doing the search handler and also for the unicode internal winamp callback being implemented (is only a ansi one at the moment). as for when that'll happen i don't know since other projects need my attention now (leaving jtfe alone for a while seeing as i've spent almost 3 months on it which is a lot more than i wanted to)

I have a question:

Dro,
Why we don't have a label (like winamp) to get more languages in JTFE?, would be Nice!

Sorry for posting this here, but I was unable to send you a private message DrO.

Just wanted to inform you that I've discovered what possibly could be a bug in your OS Pos Restorer plugin.

If you would be so kind as to check out my post at the "How to resolve an application error?" thread:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....91#post2174891

If it is a bug, I thought you'd like to know..

btw, thanks for many great plugins, I use a lot of them

Greetings from Norway

spin26, can you perhaps provide a little more detail on the error you say
you are experiencing, and how one would go about reproducing it?

Here is an example of how you might organize your bug report for DrO.

spin26: it's possible that there's mis-formatting of the old playlists that were created or in trying to re-fix the playlist loading for 0.99x i broke things (not too surprised if that happens)

if you could attach one sample playlist i can see if i can reproduce and fix it

polux: the only issue with that is where to link the files to (and generally from experience, most people who use the translations are getting it from the installer and are keeping jtfe uptodate but i can't fault the suggestion )

OK, i understand, but too many people use the jtfe shipped with Winamp distribution, and they don't know how to find a translation, but if you put the tag linked to... u know!

the main issue now even if i was to do it is that there's no enough space on the prefs page to implement it without making a sub dialog of language changes (not keen on that as was done to the ml preference pages in the early 5.x days and needs to be reverted back now that some things have been split out, heh) or making a new preferences page (not worth it for just the language options) or placing it on the about preference page (which doesn't really fit but is the only place with just enough room i think).

i can understand fully where you're coming from but the main issue really lies in where to place the option with the preferences as they are (has taken long enough to get the balance of what's on the pages as is)

FYI, the Page Up/Page Down keys don't seem to work when the search textbox is focused in the latest JTFE. Any chance we could get a fix?
