Automatically Play First Track After Double Clicking From Library

How do you get Winamp to automatically play the first track that you double click from the Library to add to the Playlist?

I know any tracks after that will play automatically, but the first track that you double click won't play for me unless I click the Play button or double click the track in the Playlist.

I guess you've got 'Enqueues selected items' set as the default action in: Prefs -> Media Library -> Library Options tab, yes?

(when 'Plays selected items' is set as default then it wipes the current playlist, adds the selection, and starts playback on the first item)

You could use right-click -> send to -> add to queue and play
(requires ML integration to be enabled in: Prefs -> Jump to File -> ML Options)

And/or you could use DrO's ml_enqplay plugin which adds an Enqueue & Play item to the ML right-click menus:

I use and prefer this option that Egg mentioned above...

But then again, I always prefer using DrO's amazing plugins anyway.

Thanks DJ Egg.

I guess I will just have to use a right click > Play rather than double click for the first track then.

Hmm, but 'Play' will clear the (previous) playlist at the same time, so if that's what you want, then you might as well just set 'Plays selected items' as the default action. Then you can just use double click again.

I am really asking about the very first track that I double click to add to the Playlist. All subsequent tracks already enqueue and play when its turn arrives.
I don't want the Playlist to be cleared every time that I double click to add a track to the Playlist.

All I want is when I open up Winamp, and double click the very first track, that it plays for me rather than having to press the Play button or double click it. I want a one step operation rather than a two step.

Well, the above is not what you were asking for initially. And even what I quoted above is confusing...

All I want is when I open up Winamp, and double click the very first track, that it plays for me rather than having to press the Play button or double click it.

OK. The above is a total contradiction (as indicated in bold).

Let's rephrase it so it makes sense...

All I want is when I open up Winamp that the very first track plays for me rather than having to press the Play button or double click it. I want a one step operation rather than a two step.

So, going with the above which does make sense and has no contradictory terms in it, this would be the answer / solution for you...

Time Restore & Autoplay <-- click-n-read

I'll partially quote from the above page...
Added in the v1.8 version is the ability to have the Winamp start playing the first track in the loaded playlist.
And again.... yet ANOTHER amazing and invaluable plugin from DrO!

It is exactly what I asked for in the first post. And there is no contradiction.

I will attempt once more to explain.

If I double click on the first track from the Library to add it to the Playlist, the track does not play for me. So I then have to double click on it in the Playlist or press the Play button to get it to play. This is a two step process to get the first track to play. I would prefer a one step process.

If you've got 'Enqueues selected items' as the default ML action, then as already explained, the only way to get a one step process is to use one of the two methods I referenced in my first reply (right-click -> send to -> add to queue & play via JTFE, or right-click -> enqueue & play, via ml_enqplay plugin).
