Open Firefox. Tools --> Add-ons --> Extensions

Choose Winamp Toolbar and press the "Uninstall" button.

Then no toolbar for firefox will be installed.

Normally, the Toolbar will be installed to the Firefox Profile Folder.

E.g. C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\YourProfile\Extensions\.

If you have no Firefox, no Firefox toolbar will be installed.

cheers for getting back in touch so quick.
in control panel and the uninstall or change programs 'Winamp Toolbar For Firefox' appears, published by 'AOL LLC'.
when i try to remove it it says that i don't have sufficient access and to contact my administrator.
i have searched for it and can't find it anywhere though.
i hope this makes sense.

Strange, I've installed the toolbar for testing, but there was no entry in Windows software menu for Firefox (just the Toolbar for Internet Explorer is here). The only ability to uninstall it, is via Firefox Extension Manager (like I've said above).

So I cannot help you dude, sorry.

@hurryhlpthx

The AOL Toolbar has nothing to do with the Winamp dev team.
You were given a choice to uncheck it on the "Get the most out of Winamp" page in the Installer Options,
so don't blame us if you didn't uncheck it.

All that said and done, I've reported the problem twice now, so hopefully something will be done about it. If not, then in my opinion, it should be removed until fixed....

For now, if you're not comfortable with manually editing the registry, use HijackThis to remove the Uninstall entry:

HijackThis -> Misc Tools -> Uninstall Manager -> Winamp Toolbar for Firefox -> Delete entry
