i've got the same timer resolution as koopa as well so something weird is going on but then again most other people aren't able to see a difference so either we're missing it or maybe the compiler changes with 5.57x aren't liked on your machines. and i've tried it on my vista and xp machines and cannot see a difference (though my lcd screens are set at 60Hz if that's of any relevance).

Update
We've rebuilt and reuploaded 5.572 build 2830 To identify: winamp.exe -> properties: General tab: Modifed: 13 January 2010, 22:45:58 Version tab: Special Build Description: 5.5.7, Build 2830 FINAL_2010_0113_221653 Alas, the "Special Build Description" line is only displayed in Win2k/XP "Version" tab, but not in Win7 "Details" tab. Though the "Date Modified" line in Win7 "Details" tab should say: 01/13/2010 22:45 (or equiv. localized date format). You can also look at the Timestamp in the Digital Signature tab: winamp.exe = 13 January 2010 22:45:57 Changes since first upload (12th Jan, FINAL_2010_0112_193429): -Updated Russian & Polish lang packs -Fixed a crash in in_cdda (info) -Fixed a crash in gen_ff (info) -One or two other minor tweaks The 5.572 update pack has also been updated. |

@DrO
"(...) or maybe the compiler changes with 5.57x aren't liked on your machines" Yeah only two of us... I have resolution 1920x1080 @ 60Hz and I still can see that. Its something like ghost effect/lag, it is no liquid. But the setting "Faster/Faster" for spectrum analyzer removes on some level that problem, but it still bothers me. @DJ Egg What kind of changes are in Polish lang pack? Sorry for my bad English ===================== MB: Gigabyte P35C-DS3R || CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3.00 GHz) || RAM: 8 GB Kingston DDR3 1333MHz || Audio card: ASUS Xonar D2X || Video card: GeForce 460 GTX || OS: Windows 7 SP1 || DirectX: 9.0c (latest) || Winamp version: latest || Winamp skin: Modern |

Perhaps I have different settings ?
win7 - Date Modified(from Details tab) shows my download date. The Timestamp(from Digital Sig. tab) shows '13 January 2010 22:55:00 Whichever works for you I guess. This is from the link in the first post, the main download page is still giving out 5.571 here. [edit] just realised Egg is probably talking about winamp (after installation). I was looking at the installer file ![]() UJ Last edited by ujay; 14th January 2010 at 15:14. |

Serpher: the polish updates will probably minor changes to ensure the language pack is as compatible with 5.572 as possible like in the version changelog and anything not caught in the earlier 5.57x releases (as most of the language packs are updated on a continuous basis).

ujay: the best method is to check what the FINAL_XXXX_XXXX_XXXXX says for the version you've downloaded and is why we've just updated One for Nunz to report it for such cases where a build is re-rolled

Yeah Ujay, I was referring to winamp.exe, not the installer.
The installer Timestamp will be slightly different for each different installer type. @Serpher Re: Polish lang pack: I don't know, lol. Ask Pawel. Re: spectrum analyzer Works wonderfully here :-) [Edit] Plus what DrO said above, lol |

Essentials Pack v5.57.2 was released.
The only difference between 5.57.1 and 5.57.2 is an updated French language file. Koopa: Thanks for the Update Installer again this time around, but next time could you make it respect what installation choices are made in the main winamp installer .ini? I ended up getting Winamp Remote and some other stuff I didn't want from your Updater.
Request: A little SmartView Query Language love. |

Usually it does a check, if a plugin/component is present and only updates files, which are installed on your system.
I gave the script to Nullsoft, so the last compile wasn't made on my end. But I'll try to take a look at it and will check, why it has installed orb on your system. I've verified the script, that the jumper check failed, was not my bad, nor was it Nullsoft's bad.
It seems, that NSIS has a glitch with jumpers in huge sections. Never mind, I've added a workaround and an updated Updater should be hopefully available soon. 5.57 had many bugs, so I must rolled back to 5.56 and wait for fixes. Yesterday I installed 5.572 and these bugs are still present :/ What a shame.
For example - non working notifier (I reported this, but no response). It doesen't show, when I listening quequed mp3's or flac files, and when playing Audio CD, after every track, it shows "playing stopped". Today must rolling back again... For what I pay for? |

When thats said I use the Winamp Modern skin and not Bento etc. I know for a fact that in Bento (I mean Big Bento), the spectrum analyzer is really slow compared to other skins. It really is slow! Maybe its just the fact that the whole analyzer is bigger in size than in other skins (so its just my imagination), but whatever it is I dont like the spectrum analyzer in Big Bento. It looks too slow for me there. It would be awesome if you could make it better/faster/more responsive for Big Bento though.. Btw; Timers resolution is 15ms for me. Spectrum analyzer settings (on right-click) are on default; Peak Fallow Speed "MODERATE", Analyzer Falloff Speed "FAST".

@Pawel
Thanks. @Kn0tte For me only the fastest setting for Analyzer Falloff Speed somehow removes that lag effect. On "Fast" is slow like a turtle. I'll try to clean install if that wont help then I'll stay at 5.56 :/ //EDIT I've tryed clean install. Slow as hell! ![]() Maybe this has something to do with Beat Vis tweaks? Hmn, thats weird. Here are a few things for you: 1) I assume you have tried restarting your computer a few times and let the machine have time to start up properly and get "fast" before starting Winamp etc (if you know what I mean)? And maybe starting Winamp twice to be sure, as it may use more resources/take more time to start up the first time? For me the Spectrum Analyzer etc might become slightly slower after playing heavy games etc for an extended period of time. 2) What skin are you using? As I said earlier, for me it feels slower in Bento (and especially Big Bento) than in other skins.. ![]() 3) Are you using other features within Winamp which can take a lot of resources and make the Spectrum Analyzer slow? Ie. notifier, fade in/out effects etc etc? And are you using other programs etc on your computer which may slow down Winamp or something? When thats said I think I saw DrO/DJ Egg or someone posting that this is a known issue on some system or something (dunno), but they dont know the cause or fix or whatever (dunno). Am I right?

Not a bug but just a question.
![]() What exactly does this line in the release log of Winamp 5.571 mean? I don't notice any difference to the 5.57 version, when using the pmp_usb plugin... Quote:

@Kn0tte
#1 I've launched Winamp 5.57 on different systems on PC as well as on notebook many times. #2 It is in my signature - Winamp Modern. And - yes - on Bento skin SA is slow. #3 Nothing special, everything is the same as it was. For me Im sure that is "fault" of Winamp, not my equipment or OS. I never had that kind of trouble with spectrum analyzer as long as Im using it. Only this new version. Beat Vis looks really more live than ever but somehow it - I suppose - slows down spectrum analyzer. Those are only my suppositions. Any ideas how to make the Browser use cookies normally in Windows 7 again? I was using lyricsplugin.com in Bento's Browser tab and it won't use the colours I set for text and background. Opening the link in a regular IE8 window shows the correct colours, it only doesn't seem to work in Winamp.

Okay, I've added the English resources to pmp_usb.lng for the Dutch lang pack. Open %ProgramFiles%\Winamp\Lang\Winamp-nl-nl.wlz in 7-Zip (latest 9.x beta recommended) Drag+drop the attached pmp_usb.lng into it. Note, this is for the Dutch lang pack ONLY. You (or any other Dutch member) could even help me to translate it properly if you want... I'd need to know the Dutch translation for the following 6 lines: Playlist Writing Options Changing how Winamp saves its playlists may improve compatability with other portable devices. Slash at start of paths (default) Dot at start of paths No slash or dot at start e.g. \\path\\to\\file.mp3 ____________________________ |

All the links on the main download page of this site still point to 5.571, although the files seem to be present (just changing the 5571 to 5572 in the links, and also the links in this thread work for me).
Also, the Version History wiki page doesn't reflect 5.572. (Moreover, the "Winamp Toolbar" page is still in old site design... but that's off-topic) Maybe someone should update the website??! |

Main site has now been updated to 5.572.
If any download links don't work, then please give it a couple of hours or so before reporting. Also try adding gdownload into the url, eg. http://download.gdownload.nullsoft.com/winamp/client/winamp5572_pro_de-de.exe |

Anyone else getting a crash when manually choosing "Remove missing files from Media Library"?
It only occurs for me at the end of the scan when it finds files to remove. Another interesting thing to note is that it doesn't appear the check the first time I click it, the menu just flickers and comes back. Request: A little SmartView Query Language love. |
