Album Art

When I rip a CD to my PC using WA Pro 5.56 it doesn't copy the album art. How do I do that? Is there a setting I'm missing? Thanks!

CDs don't have album art embedded (unless you count the sleeve, but that can't really be copied). You can use the options in the Media Library to try to download the album art.

Interesting

I don't doubt you -- I'm new to WinAmp -- but I'm a little surprised. I've been using Windows Media Player which always puts the album art in the album folder on the PC as part of the ripping process. I assumed they were getting it off the album.

I wonder if WMP gets it off the net and puts it in the folder automatically? With WinAmp it's a whole separate step?

Winamp's album art downloader sucks a lil' bit, the quality of the downloaded images isn't really good.

I'd recommend MP3Tag or another tool.

Yes, Windows Media Player downloads the album art during ripping process. If you want to use the album art download feature in Winamp, you have to add it later, when the files are part of your library.

You can find a rt click menu for album art in the library:

Or in the file info editor (right click a file in Playlist or Library and choose 'View file info...')

Automatically downloading album art during ripping process is a feature request and should be posted in the Wishlit forum.

Ok. That's sort of a bummer, but I can live w/ it. Thanks. (But see my other question regarding where the music is saved on the PC HD. Thanks again!)
