query engine enhancement
hello there,
I was told to post my Problem as a feature request here, since winamp obv cannot do it by now. I'm sure most of you know smart playlists for Ipod, and afaik they use the same engine as the smart view in Media Library. So I thought of such an Smart Playlist which should do some freaky shit (I have to admit that^^) and it cant because the query engine is not capable of that. So what I want (or wish to appear in a future release)is: A Smart Playlist which puts in only the songs by Artists I have one time. (That'd be of course only one Song per artist) I hope an example makes clearer what I'm thinking of. That Playlist would NOT include songs by Linkin Park, since I have more than 50 Songs by them. But it would include beautiful days by venus, since its the only Song i have by Venus. It's of course not the Playlist I want, but the query engine to be able to do that ![]() Maybe I also should describe why i want this feature. I don't often buy albums, but a considerable amount of my Library consists of songs I only have one of by an specific artist. That is because I download songs when I hear them somewhere and find them cool and worth to download. So in general these "one-of" songs are something special to me, but i often lose them in the mass of those artists I have many songs by. Maybe also an example here: Who has another song by MC Hammer than "U can't touch this"? I guess everyone of us has that single, but none has more songs by him. (except some weird dudes^^) I hope you guys out there understood what i want and why i'd love to appear this feature in a future release. regards, gab |

I think such a query function should be implemented into winamp as well. It would be nice to be able to put such limits on results in SPL's
What you want is kind of like this: Artist = ALL with 1 song only |

yes, thats it.
Actually that must then also work with albums, because I also have several albums where different artists where each song appears only once per artist. So the correct query would be like this: Artist = All with one song only AND only with one album |

More functionality in the SPL search engine would be well overdue now.
