i need the files in from 'shoutcast-dsp-1-9-0-windows.exe',
becase i not succeed installing this file..

simply, un-archive to folder plugins (install) and copy from folder the coping and paste to zip archive or tgz archive.


plasee i need this!

reinstall it and you will get the files. Make a backup of the ones (ini file) if you are worried about loosing settings.

i can not install Nothing from this exe file..

it is about Operating System Ubuntu 8.10 on WINE and crossover-pro software not Detected folder of winamp.. This story.

The SHOTUcast DSP doesn't support Linux. It is for Winamp on windows. Look for the new sc_trans betas.

i dont know installing on linux..

winamp is run in crossover-pro Simulation windows. So that is not problem!

crossover and wine can install an exe file. Open up your favorite shell, and type:

wine /path/to/dsp/exe/file/exefilename.exe

wine will run it and start the install process. I know for a fact that this can be done as I've got both winamp and the dsp installed on my linux box.

By the way, if you've got a reasonably updated version of wine, I have actually found that wine is better at running winamp et al than crossover is.

i'm run with wine.

I think the problem was due to change the path to the installation - winamp 5.5 ..
It is also possible the installation was successful even with the crossover when the path was installed as the default.

It seems it was a bug.. There should be no problem to justify such a change because the installation path.

am.. wine ver is 1.0.1.

Yes, you do have to keep an eye on where the install path is going and make sure that everything catches the correct path through wine.

As you have gotten everything off the ground for yourself, a few other hints some of which you may or may not know.

1. Modern skin support for winamp through wine makes things terribly slow and can make winamp more likely to crash. I always advice people to use classic skins if running winamp in *nix.

2. Never install the winamp agent in wine or any of the associated taskbar items. Honestly, I've never had a problem with this, but it is what everyone seems to recommend --- I dunno why. Linux does not have any of that stuff so it simply should not run rather than cause errors like everyone claims, but I not a computer expert either.

3. You do not need to run the windows version of DNAS to connect to as well, with a little tinkering you can get the dsp to connect to the linux version of dnas. I don't remember specifically what I had to change to do this anymore, all I remember is that it did not work out of the box and that I did not have to change anything major (maybe change the address in the dsp to either 127.0.0.1 or the internal IP address of the computer).

3: Now I have no need for a local server (I use an external server). But you say possible broadcast in the local Linux server (as long as they are corrected, maybe with LAMP)?

By the way, what media library does not work (any skins)?

3. Yes this is possible to do, just set all addresses that refer back to the SHOUTcast server to you external host IP.

I have never had issues with the media library, though at the same time, I am not really a heavy user of the feature either.
