"Enqueue as Default Action" doesn't work!
Can someone tell me why "enqueue as default action" doesn't work in my WinAmp3? I thought it was a problem on my computer, so I downloaded WinAmp3 again, but that didn't solve the problem.
When I doubleclick on a song, I would like winamp to enqueue that song instead of playing it immediatly. That's what "enqueue as default action" is supposed to do, right? I would be VERY thankfull if someone could help me with this problem!! |

Preferences > System > Playlists and checking the checkbox to the left of "Enqueue as default action" should work flawlessly. Should work on the fly as well, providing no music is playing when you make the change.
Did you do that? Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads. Yes, I have ofcourse checked the box "enqueue as default action" (I've attatched a screenshot).
Then it should work, right? It works fine if I rightclick and choose "Enqueue/Dequeue", but I would like that to be my default option instead of Play... |

Yes, You are doing it correctly. And this is the very first time I've personally ever heard of this problem. That is one feature that always works flawlessly in Winamp3 as far as I know. It certainly does for me.
OK... what skin are you using? A 3rd party skin or one of the only two that came prebundled with the Winamp3 installation? Regardless... You say you uninstalled/reinstalled. But I'm wondering if you did it correctly.... Now, you can NOT reinstall over-the-top. If you did that, then whatever problem is causing this for you probably still remained. You need to perform a fresh uninstall/reinstall, using this procedure, and in this order... 1. First, copy/save all your 3rd party skins (if any exist) in the Winamp3\Skins folder to a temp location 2. Completely uninstall Winamp3 via Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs 3. Completely delete the Winamp3 folder and all folders within from your hard drive 4. Reinstall the latest public release of Winamp3. 5. Download/install the official wa3update patch. Don't forget this step. The update contains the latest waveOut & DirectSound Output components, plus latest midi, mod, wav, ogg inputs that didn't make it to 3.0 setup due to the deadline and code freeze. 6. Start up Winamp3 Now, at this point let's not move any skins back in. Just start up Winamp3. When it starts, test it out for awhile using only the 2 default skins that come with the installation. If you have no problems, at that point go ahead and close Winamp3 once more and move all your saved skins from the temp location back into the Winamp3\Skins folder. |

I use the default WinAmp skin, so I don't think that's the problem.
I downloaded the latest version of winamp and the update. I completely removed winamp and reinstalled all. I checked the "enqueue in winamp" feature, but it still doesn't work... In the WinAmp Playlist Editor, I'm supposed to able to doubleclick on a song, and then it should be enqueued, right? It is so wierd why it doesn't work... |

"Enqueue as default action" effects what happens when double-clicking on file-types supported by Winamp3 anywhere ELSE (within Windows). Normally, if you double-click say, an MP3 file, either on your Desktop, within a folder, etc., that file will PLAY in Winamp3. It will also REPLACE any existing files within any Playlist in the Playlist Editor with itself in Winamp3, as it plays. By switching to Enqueue as default, it will ADD or APPEND the file to the Playlist instead of PLAYING the file. This is useful for 2 reasons... 1. The one I already mentioned above, where the new file will not wipe out the loaded Playlist 2. If music is already playing, and a Playlist is loaded with a number of songs in it, it will just ADD (enqueue) that song to the end of the already playing Playlist. You can keep adding songs to a Playlist that way too, before SAVING the Playlist. Get it now? So, it appears that you have NO problem at all. ![]() *Note: Regardless of whether a song is "played" or "enqueued" Winamp3 will always add it to a Playlist. If there are no Playlists, one will be created. "Play" will immediately begin playing the song. If not added to an existing playlist, but creating a new one, Enqueue will load the song, waiting for user input (eg: pressing the play button in Winamp3). If added to an existing Playlist with other songs already playing, it will play when the Playlist reaches the enqueued file. |

Thank you very much! Then there seems to be no problem at all!
But is it possible to doubleclick on a file in the winamp browser, and then the file gets enqueued instead of played? That would be a great feature, and that was actualy what I was looking for! We all know that if you rightclick on a song a menu pops up, and you can choose either "Play focused item", "Enqueue/Dequeue" and a lot of other features. Is it somehow posible to make "Enqueue/Dequeue" the default action instead of "Play focused item"? |

This is what you were actually looking for? Then why didn't you say so from the beginning? Sheesh! ![]() Looks like all I did here was give an Enqueue Tutorial, instead of answering a question/problem. MY FINGERS HURT FROM TYPING!!! SHEESH!!!

I personally thought that was how it worked too. Double click on a file in the playlist and it would queue it up (instead of eight clicking and selecting the option). I think that would be a really nice feature for future releases.
