Ability of copying files from playlist to specified directory using DRAG AND DROP

Like everyone knows, we can add songs to winamp through windows DRAG AND DROP. I think it will be a great thing to implement in winamp a some kind of a mechanism which could let user to copy a song using DRAG AND DROP from playlist to a folder. This mechanism could work for example in that way:
When dragging it will read a path of this song from winamp playlist and then after dropping it will read a destination directory and tell the system to copy this file(s) to that destination directory.
I think this would be a nice feature.

@LIDER: i agree that i would be a nice feature. as things stand i'm not too sure on if this could be added externally as a plugin to get the feature into winamp.

maybe this could be added into something else i'm starting to work on which i think would suit your needs.

Definitly a good, intuitive feature. I can't wait to see it integrated or as a plugin!

There are some plugins for winamp 2 that kinda do this already. It copies files from a playlist to a specific directory. I use this plugin to move my playlists to my Nomad. Here is the link: http://classic.winamp.com/plugins/de...onentId=132981

Pretty similar concept to the gen_yar plugin

As for specifying individual files, and using drag+drop method,
well, that's a totally different issue....

but that would be soooo uber leet to have in - i've wanted to have something like that for a long time.

it does make more sense if it could be supported in winamp directly but hopefully i should be able to get it implmented eventually in my new plugin (got to learn some more win32 stuff for that i think) so that you can drag a file to a given folder/from a menu as well - not sure about to other winamps though. that would depend on how things work (will keep it in mind though)

So will it be implemented?

After this great discussion I thought that it will be implemented. Many people agreed with my suggestion and told it will be a great idea to implement something like this in a new Winamp version. Now I downloaded a newest beta of Winamp 5 - RC8 and there is nothing done to implement this. So tell me, why other wishes are implemented and my(which was agreed to be very nice) isn't? Will it ever be implemented?

Sorry, but your link is DEAD! BTW I thought that this feature would be available earlier. One year - quite fast, isn't it?

ok, I just re-read the thread, and I don't think it will do what you want...
though you might like it anyhow
(also, it was already linked to by DJ Egg, so you might know it already...)

Good Winamp plugins by Joonas, DrO and shaneh.
If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.
