server down, server unavailable problem.
server down, server unavailable problem.
I've just installed the linux version of Shoutcast. I am unable to listen to the mp3 I put in /usr/local/shoutcast/content through WinAmp. If I connect to http://x.x.x.x:8000/content/listen.pls, WinAmp does not get past connecting to, and finally says ICY 401 [Service Unavailable]. So, I look at my messages. Event log: <12/22/03@13:47:57> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/Linux v1.9.2 (Nov 25 2002) starting up... <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] pid: 2305 <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] loaded config from sc_serv.conf <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] initializing (usermax:5 portbase:8000)... <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban) <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip) <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] opening source socket <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] source thread starting <12/22/03@13:47:57> [source] listening for connection on port 8001 <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] opening client socket <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] Client Stream thread [0] starting <12/22/03@13:47:57> [main] client main thread starting <12/22/03@13:52:17> [dest: (IP of client)] server unavailable, disconnecting Then the next line goes back to [sleeping] If I use a browser, and type in http://X.X.X.X:8000, I log in as administrator and see: Server Status: Server is currently down Any help or troubleshooting ideas would be superb. Thanks, Maria |

Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: How to Setup On-Demand with SHOUTcast -> Sawg's Lame Rip-Off: On Demand Audio How to Setup On-Demand with SHOUTcast -> On Demand Audio (Radio Toolbox) ******************** "Server Status: Server is currently down" That's fine if you want to serve ondemand content (see above) If you want live content, then send the DNAS a source from either a Winamp/DSP combo, sc_trans, or some other source. |

Hi,
i have the same problem. I read the sticky post about on-demand-stream. But how can i realise, that if the server is sleeping (nobody sends a live-stream) and a listener is connecting, that the shoutcast starts to play a local mp3 in loop? On-demand doesn't seems to be my solution, because therefore i have to open an url like http://domain:port/mp3.pls . But I want to realise on-demand by using http://domain:port and only when nobody sends a live-stream. Any possibility? PS: Sorry for my english ;) |
