new Plugin for Covers .... viewable in the media library

i finally made a plugin by myself.

This Plugin does the following :

- Looks up the Filename of the currently playing song
- Looks up whether an image file is existing in the folder where the song is located
- Creates an HTML File about the Song including the Image and Information about the song.

This HTML file can be viewed in "NOW PLAYING" in the Winamp media Library.

Re: new Plugin for Covers .... viewable in the media library

Hi Ikarus,

Thanks for creating this plugin. It sounds great, exactly what I 've been looking for : automatically viewing albums' cover art without having to browse for it!

Unfortunately, I have been unable to download your plugin. I gather that the site where it was hosted no longer offers hosting... Any chance of downloading it from somewhere else?

Thank you,

Stéphane

Stéphane...

You have replied to a 3 year old 'dead' thread.
Ikarus posted above way way back on 02-21-2004.
I doubt the plugin exists any longer, although I could be wrong. And if so, it probably has to be updated for the newest Winamp version.

Anyway, you could give this one a try --> Cover TAG for Winamp5

I haven't used it, but this is what it claims to do...
Quote:
Uses id3 tag info to locate cover image for currently playing song, and then displays it in the Winamp video window. If the id3 tag info isn't complete, then Cover TAG will search by other means (file name with jpg extension, folder.jpg, etc.)
Perhaps it will be close to what you want.

Bubba Smith, thanks for answering my question. Sorry if I caused any upset in this forum by uncovering an old post.

As you may realise, I have no idea how this works, nor did I know that answering an old post was not the done thing. When I found this thread after a google search, it seemed very alive indeed.

I also mean to say that we could have done without the patronising tone, and if it were not intentional, well that is how it sounded as read from here.

I promise that I will not annoy anyone around here any more.

Anyhow, back to the subject matter : apparently a piece of software/plugin/thingy called TOASTER seems to do a pretty good job at showing cover art while a song is playing. I'll try it ASAP.

Bye

Stéphane

Stéphane...

There was nothing at all patronizing in what I said. However, some people are overly touchy and 'read beyond' what is stated and then inevitably see things that are simply not there. But that of course is to be expected. It happens all the time. I'm used to it. My intention was to inform the uninformed/unaware, in this case, an individual who mistakingly overlooked the date of a post, that was 3 years old. And then of course I suggested something that I thought could be of help, based on what was asked.

I am aware of the Toaster plugin and I do hope it works for you.

P.S.
You did not annoy anyone here, as you had indicated. Feel free to post here whenever you like.
