ShoutCast tools for Php-Nuke (and others)
While back we were discussing ShoutCast tools for Php-Nuke. Our simple block & module were downloaded hundreds of times while we were working on the full package. Its ready now. You can see it in action at Glowdot: http://www.glowdot.com and a few other sites mentioned at the code homepage: http://code.glowdot.com
The simple block and module just do now playing and last 10 respectively. The full package stores links to album covers in the database, pulls album titles and amazon ASINs, includes an Amazon block for generating a little $$$ from your stream, and much more. Also of interest, we've put together a script that maintains permanent, accurate playlists of what you're playing on your shoutcast. This requires you know how to setup cron jobs, but other than that it is ridiculously easy to install. Example here: http://www.glowdot.com/SCPlaylist/scplaylists.php I don't want to go into detail about it here, but if you don't get what it does, check it out. Its what most of us Shoutcasters have wanted for our websites for a loooong time (well, those of us who don't want to shell out huge bucks for SAM2 or some such). The playlist is standalone, by the way. NOT one of the Nuke scripts. Festerhead, if you're still around, maybe you can add this link to your page of SC tools? [LInk to this thread added to Toolbox -> Current Song Display Tools section (FesterHead)] Peace... |

Actually, I definitely should better explain that second script. It grabs last 10 from the XML and stores it in a text file. Because there will be a few overlapping tracks, it finds the overlaps and eliminates them, so what you end up with is a time stamped playlist of everything your shoutcast played going back to the first day you install the playlist script. So if people liked what they heard yesterday at 1:04pm, they only have to go to your playlist for yesterday, scroll down to 1:04 PM, and see what it was. Nice, eh?
demos here: http://www.glowdot.com/SCPlaylist/scplaylists.php http://www.glowdot.com/modules.php?name=SCPlaylist (Nuked version) http://www.gargoyledawn.com/metalsto...cplaylists.php Peace |

Thanks man! I've been using the glowdot blocks for awhile on my site. I was one of the first to implement it when you announced it last time.
Very good block and I've been anticipating this release. If anyone wants to see the early block in action www.doodmonkeyradio.com |

Ohh yea..
I'm not sure about that.. All I can think of is that the forums can't link to outside sources because of something... Check another thread for more info. |
