Recently Converted from Musicmatch Quick Question!!!

Well, due to the popularity of ogg and musicmatch just sucking more and more with every release. I decided to try out winamp again and I was impressed. Big improvements in the past 6 months...I've decided to convert. I have a couple of questions though.

I have my media library set add a track to the playlist when I double click on one and play it if nothing else is playing. Is there a way I can preview an audio file w/o affecting the playlist? Everytime I click the bottom play button the playlist clears and adds that particular track to the playlist.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,
Dave

If you're using the button I'm thinking of(the one that looks like Eject), when you get the file window try Right Click > Enqueue instead of Left Click > Open.

Thats not my issue...my issue is why doesn't winamp have a preview function...if you read the subject, i'm migrating from musicmatch and this is the only feature winamp lacks...a preview button where the track just plays and doesn't add to the playlist. For now I have to either queue it up then double click from playlist or I just play and wipe my entire playlist... just trying to make things more efficient...several clicks verses one click for preview. I'm just hoping either maybe they'll add it in the next version or maybe i'll find some type of mod for that or something...that'd be sweet.

Yeah, I thought about enqueue also. But, that seems only solve part of section31's concern. Although the playlist is not cleared, it is still affected or modified (file is added).

It would be nice to play from the Media Library without the playlist being modified. If there is something that I am missing or there is a way, feel free to let me know.

[edit] Whoops, I got to learn how to type faster [/edit]

It was a feature of Winamp3, and is still a feature of Wasabi.Player, but not yet implemented into the Winamp 5 ML.
Not sure if it can/will be either....

Err, bump what? AFAIK the development team does monitor the forums to keep up to date on requests for features. However, DJ Egg did mention that it may not be possible…

If it is possible me thinks it could be done through a ML plug-in. However, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

yeah...well i don't see this as a request for just me...Its a very important feature imo...Don't see why they didn't implement it on winamp 5.

thanks for the replies guys.
