How to add mp3 to playlist without deleting PL & with playing?

Hi guy!

I found some discussions here about adding song to playlist. But I wanna add song (by click!) to playlist so that playlist will be not deleted and added song will play imediately (enque as default action did not solve this).
My second question is: when I have saved playlist and also when I have set up shuffle, after clickin on playelist music start to play always with the first song in playlist. I wanna to start with accidental song.
Thanks for help.

[Edit > June 2005]

See my last post in this thread for info on latest JTFE plugin.

Original Post

The only method I currently know of to 'enqueue & play' files from Windows Explorer is to install the PowerPlayer II plugin.

After installing it and before opening Winamp,
open winamp.ini (Winamp dir)
and edit it accordingly to disable PowerPlayer2 video file association
(ie. to keep Nullsoft in_dshow.dll as default video plugin).

Further instructions here

Note, you can keep it associated with .swf and .vob if you wish
(it's nice to have the option to play Shockwave and DVD/SVCD).

Or you can just disable PowerPlayer plugin after installation by eg. renaming in_avrun.dll to in_avrun.dll.off

Now to the crux...

PowerPlayer2 plugin also installs WampEnq.exe in the Winamp root folder.

You will now notice a couple of extra items in the Explorer context menus for all filetypes associated with Winamp... one of these being:

"use enqueue-play (audio)"

If you click this, Enqueue+Play will become the default action for that particular filetype.
However, it will then be displayed as "Play in Winamp" (bold text)
and there'll now be an extra item in the context menu:
"Play in Winamp (replace playlist)"
(which is the original "Play in Winamp" action renamed).

Other methods of implementing Enqueue & Play are via these two plugins:

Dynamic Library
QuickTracks (discussion)

But note, the implementation is via the plugin interface, and not in Explorer context menus...

eg.

Dynamic Library window > right click a file > Enqueue & Play (Ctrl+Enter)

Or with QuickTrax...
right click on Winamp main window songticker,
select entry, right click -> QT Enqueue -or- Enqueue & Play

Edit / Update

Joonas is also working on an Enqueue & Play plugin.

Yay! Thankz for writing about the PowerPlayer II plugin method to add quene music...

I could have sworn Winamp 2.0 and below quene music...

anyways, is there a way for winamp to detect the same songs in the playlist and delete them? Like a Remove Duplicate Songs option or something?

Thankz in advance

Both Winamp 2.x and 5.x had/have an option to make "enqueue as default" from Windows Explorer (c/o Winamp > Prefs > File Types).

Winamp 5.03 Full and later (only 5.06 is supported) comes with the Jump to File Extra plugin. As long as you didn't uncheck support for this during installation, then this plugin adds the ability to enqueue songs in the actual playlist window (eg. via Alt+Left Click or "Q" hotkey, or via the JTFE interface - J / F3). It also adds the following feature:
Playlist > Rem button > Remove > Remove Duplicate Entries.

Note, my first post in this thread only relates to adding "Enqueue and Play" combo functionality.

Well, it's an option, but I'll be sticking with the very stable WampEnq for now :/

[Edit --> June 2005]

The latest build of the Jump to File Extra (JTFE) plugin now includes "Enqueue and Play" functionality.

Prefs > Jump to File > Shell Options tab
-Add 'Enqueue & Play' option to Winamp's associated file types
-Set 'Enqueue & Play' as the default action

This works for files opened via Windows Explorer folders and browsers.

For the Media Library...

Prefs > Jump to File > ML Options tab
-Enable Send To menu 'Add to queue and play' entry

Adds "Send To > Queue and Play" in the right-click context menu for all ML items.

Note: JTFE (gen_jumpex.dll) v0.96ff is already included with the default Winamp distro (v5.03 to 5.093). When complete, the new 0.97-1.0 builds will be included with the Winamp 5.1x distro.
