Norway to kill five wolves

This is fucking stupid. The Norwegian government wants to kill five of its grey wolves, which accounts for a quarter of the entire population. This is to protect sheep. Honestly, I think it's lunacy.

Totally unecessary. Some months ago, I saw on an episode of The Jeff Corwin Experience (Animal Planet) that some cowboys or sumthin' were using some kinda homemade sound boxes to harmlessly scare the wolves off their property. I think the episode was The Big Bad Wolf, which I think is on again February 15, but I'm not sure.

I have to agree with the stupidity of Norway's decision. In a recent article, Yellowstone officials and researchers discovered that by increasing the wolf population, it kept it's natural prey population down in hunt territories. AND found other wildlife flurishing because the larger herbivores weren't eating up all the food. It's a rebalancing of nature.

It's common sense. Without natural predators, deer and reindeer herds will become larger, competing with loose grazing sheep for food. Then someone will suggest culling those herds and then the animal rights activists will get their panties all bunched up cause you're killing Bambi's mother.

Morons.

Not to long ago, we nearly decimated the wolf population from North America.
But once they were put on the endangered species list,
and through research and public education,
they helped the ranchers and farmers come up with
humane ways to control wolves from attacking their livestock.
So the wolf population has grown without allot of problems.
Today they all seem to be able to live together.
Maybe instead of acting like idiots, the Norweigans
should come over here and find out how we've done it.
Wolves are one of the coolest animals on the planet!
I hate seeing anyone kill them unnecessarily,
especially when there are other ways to solve the problem.

Unfeeling jerk. I hope you're hiking somewhere in the woods sometime, and a pack of wolves eats you alive.
