How else to edit/save cursors?
My Microangelo trial ran out a long time ago... and unlike the version I had on my old computer, this one won't let me use it at all anymore. Are there any freer programs that would allow me to make new cursors? I really prefer to have nice custom cursors with my skins if I can. What do you guys use?

I use Animation Shop, but I have the distinct feeling that it doesn't allow for quite the diverse color palettes that Microangelo does. So if anyone has any suggestions or a link to an older trial of Microangelo (I guess I could even grab it off my old computer when I get home this weekend, though), I'd also like to know.

I don't do crack, Mr Jones.
![]() I wish photoshop let me save .cur files... I can make cursors easy, it's just a matter of filetype ![]() I looked around, and man, crackz-type sites seem virussy, eh? Who knew hackers were so good at... hacking. :P A lot of them don't seem to have the one for microangelo 5.59b yet anyway... meh |

Great! That should come in handy. I can't stand MicroAngelo's crappy interface. Doing it all in Photoshop sounds great!

Yes, but don't forget that that was before you began being enlightened by the limitless world of photoshop

I don't miss anything about making cursors in either Microangelo, potatoshop or any other package that you might mention.
'twas always my least favourite part of skinning, that and actually getting started. |

I use Icon Art The free version works amazingly for me. Although the UI is not the most intuitive ever, it does its job once you figure it out. it may be easier to draw the picture and copy/paste it in. Also, setting the hotspot can be kind of tricky. You have to input the x,y coordinate of your hotspot. But hey, it's free.

The version of MicroAngelo that I had never had anything like anti-aliasing. Maybe I had a very out-of-date version - it was pretty terrible, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was. The only thing I use ImageReady for is animation for my skins. That might explain their low quality, but you can do it.

All the anti-aliasing in my Teen Girl Squad skin was done in Microangelo. >_< That skin would have been SO much easier with photoshop, but I still think that photoshop has made me too lazy, so the skin wouldn't have been as clever as it is now. (knowing my recent trends, the buttons would probably rotate or fade rather than warping, for example) But that's a moot point. I think it's worth noting that all my cursors so far have been made in microangelo (except the trigun and power glove ones) and I think they've all been pretty good.
