Well, it is generated. It is black with something that looks like word-art for letters. I suppose if you made this the real way, it could amount to something. but. . .

Please just make a skin yourself!

I was going to say the generator is a crutch, but it's more like a wheelchair. An electric wheelchair. With no controls for steering. Sure, it's easier than walking, but you aren't really doing the work, and you aren't really controlling it. I imagine you made that title yourself, but you haven't really made any buttons, sliders, or backgrounds, so you haven't really "made a skin," per se. And if you do decide to make a skin, I suggest using using Skinner's Atlas rather than the generator.

yup, sure is. We're not treating you like crap. Trust me, it is much more rewarding to complete a skin that you make yourself. (though some may tell you that I'm not quite the authority on completing skins )

You mean like this one? http://www.winamp.com/nsdn/winamp/skinning/classic/

It might not be a simple as you'd like, but there are pictures... I think someday I might make my own super-simple tutorial, when I have time.

Adobe Photoshop. I start with the skeletons2.bmp of "Skinner's Atlas" (attached) and I draw my skin on top of that. Then when I'm done I cut the peices out and paste them into the skin files where they belong. It's easiest with Photoshop or Paint Shop or any graphics program that lets you use layers, but I used to do it in mspaint, so it can be done.

Option A: At a store, with money. Probably a software store. And lots of money.
Option B: Download the trial from their Web Site. Try Adobe.com. Or search on Google.

As for why I can't send it to you:
Reason A: It's about a kajillion megabytes.
Reason B:
Warez

Oh, and I think "The Gimp" is free. I haven't used it (so I don't know anything useful about it), but it's supposed to be similar to Photoshop

Yeah, I did most of my skins in paint, Photoshop is fairly new to me. What you've got there doesn't look bad so far. That wasn't too hard was it?

Hey Mr Jones, can you put up the ones about double posting and post pumping too? That'd be great thx
1. There is no coding involved in this. You put it in a new folder inside of c/program files/winamp/skins and you should be able to look at it as you go.
2. No I won't make you an avatar I waste enough energy answering your goofy questions.
3. Why would you post a text.bmp here? They always look about the same. Lets see... the background of your text.bmp is black, and that part of your main is black, so yes, it will blend fine. See part 1 for how you can check it yourself.
4. Have you seen this button?

You seem to get a little excited about the skinning thing every few days or so, under multiple accounts. If you don't listen when people try to help you, they won't continue helping you anymore.

You thought I was dead, didn't you?

Funny you say that, as there are at least two other user names posting from your IP address as well, so either the database is lying or you are, but there you go.

as you can see from the attachment, 3 users share your IP address when I search the user database, your IP appears to be static, so quit with the 'only account I have' line for a start, otherwise we might just block that static IP.

Start using the EDIT button as well rather than making post after post after post, you have three hours from the time you post a reply to edit it and add anything else you need to say, no need to keep replying one after another.
