Locked folders
Description: Folders are locked when you add something from them from within winamp (playlist->add file), and cannot be moved or renamed. Frustrating to say the least. In order to be able to rename or delete the dir you have to either:
* close winamp * select open file and add a file from another directory. How to reproduce: start winamp and press the add file in the playlist window. go to some directory and add a file or more from it. remove files from playlist. Go to explorer and locate the dir from which you added file(s) and try to delete/rename it. NO GO, it is locked. (yes there is no file from this directory playing). OS: Windows 2000, sp4 with latest winamp (5.1) BOX: Athlon 2400+, 512mb, sb live 1024, radeon 9600xt This is a total fresh install of winamp, with just what's in the full free version. No 3rd party plugins etc. This bug has been in winamp for as long as I can remember. |

that's because winamp sets the current working directory to the folder opened (which is part used for restoring the last folder back when you then re-open that option) and when a working directory is set then the OS will not allow you to remove that folder. so really it's just by design of how the OS and it's related apis as called within Winamp currently work

Well I don't think it should set it to cwd if that means it gets locked. I can't for the love of god think that somebody in his right mind thinks it is Ok for winamp to lock (even if it is indirectly) a dir that you are not even doing anything with at the moment.
