I can throw Winamp 5.2(1) into inifinte loop!

Whenever I click and drag a given song into the winamp playlist, I throw it into an infinite loop, 100% cpu. First of all, I have tried clean installs of v5.13, 5.2, and v5.21. Version 5.13 has no problems whatsoever. Versions 5.20 and 5.21 both have the same problem. Here are the details:

The name of the song is "Sammy Hagar - Shaka Doobie (The Limit)", and the album is "Ten 13". I have tried it with both musepack, with APE2 tags (in_mpc v0.99g), and with Ogg Vorbis and vorbis tags. Both copies throw it into a loop depending on your media tag import settings, meaning it either goes into the loop upon reading the tags, or playing the song (which then reads the tags).

I could provide more info, but its straightforward. Just make sure you have the file tagged correctly and watch your CPU!:

Artist: Sammy Hagar
Album: Ten 13
Date: 2000
Tracknumber: 01
Title: Shaka Doobie (The Limit)

If there's any more info you need or want, just follow up in this thread. I would love to get confirmation/fixes for this. Thank you very much!

I just noticed that in a totallt clean install, this does not happen. However, when I change my playlist title string to my preferred format, this is when the infinite loop happens. My string is:

%artist% '<'$abbr(%album%,4) $num(%tracknumber%,2)'>' %title%

Yup. Known/reproduced 5.2x-specific bug

Thank you for the reply. I'm glad to hear its a known problem. I'll simply keep using 5.13 until a newer version comes out that fixes this.

Well, yeah, that's one option.
The other is to just not use $abbr in the ATF string, for now.

That's actually what I decided to do. I have a specific reason for wishing to use $abbr, but it is not anything critical. I noticed v5.21 is even faster at rescanning my music collection than v5.13 so it got the nod over v5.13 for that reason. Thanks for your help, DJ Egg!
