If You Are Not Listed On Shoutcast Read This

Everyone,

First off don't post a message like 'ITS NOT WORKING' or 'HELP'.

The shoutcast yellowpages (yp.shoutcast.com) get additions to its station list all the time. Some days it may take several hours to be listed. However if you have a 'TEST' station setup and only stream of a few minutes you may never be listed!

This is a free service as well so asking someone to fix it, wont go very far as this service will fix problems for customers that have paid a preimum to be listed. Also the yellow pages is NOT how you test your connection. You have your mates/freinds whatever tune in. If you are using the yellow pages to find out what your stream URL is, that is incorrect as well.

You should follow the instructions, including reading the contents of the INI or CONF files. You need to know what our internet address is and what your computers IP address is. Check out sites like http://www.whatismyip.com and it will show you what you real address is, so listeners would use http://IPort/listen.pls (where IP is the IP address listed on that web page, and port is the PortBase inside sc_serv.ini or sc_serv.conf).

There is NO NEED TO CONTINUE TO POST MESSAGES that you are not listed.

You can reply to this thread, but I would suggest you DO NOT bitch and moan about it not working.

FYI: I do this for fun, I dont work for shoutcast, nullsoft, aol, or your local fast food place.
