Help with Help

When I open the Help page all it does is flash on and off. When I select a subject it never opens. It's been this way for over a year now. I'm using version 5.32.

Can anyone help?
Dave

Well, I have several third party Extensions with FF 2.0 and maybe there is a conflict with one of them and the WA help page.

Later on today (where there is some free time) I will disable them and report back to this thread.

Found it, Link Alert is causing the issue (at least for me). The WA help page(s) loads and displays correctly when LA is disabled...
FF > Tools > Add-ons > Extensions icon > Link Alert > Disable button > close and restart FF to ensure change takes place
The above steps are based on FF 2.0

No extensions installed of any sort. It's done this with older versions of FF and I installed 2.0 the other day. It also does it with IE 6.0.

Try this one (http://winamp.com/support/help/50/whnjs.htm).

I don't know why this is happening. At a guess, are you using some type of third party ad/script blocking software? If you don't mind, please post system specs, especially a Hijack This log. Instructions for posting a HjT log are in the system specs link.

That link works fine for me. Is there a way to replace the link in the player with this one?

Unfortunately no, as far as I know the address is hard-coded in the Winanp core. However, as a workaround or alternative there is way to put the Help Page in the Online Services section of the Media Library.

See DJ Egg's example with Live365. Based on his example the Online Help entry should look something like this…
ElementID11=11000
ElementIcon11=4
ElementSubbed11=1
ElementName11=Winamp's Online Help ElementURL11=http://winamp.com/support/help/50/whnjs.htm
Note what DJ said about the numbering and ordering, the numbers in the above example may be different for you. Also the name of the page does not have to be absolute, so you can use something else other than “Winamp's Online Help”.

Good Luck

[edit > JonnyMac]
Note: Other users can use the address http://winamp.com/support/help/50/Winamp5.htm (after ElementURL11=) for the regular help page.
