Video iPod

This post is to all those people out there who (like me) have a video iPod.

ML_iPod is the best tool out there IMHO to manage an ipod. In order for ml_ipod to fully support all the features of a video ipod such as sorting video files, video podcasts etc, Abu needs to have a video ipod develop the software.

Keep in mind he does this ON HIS OWN TIME for FREE. I have done my part to donate some money towards this very worthy work.

I'd like to challenge all the other video ipod owners to donate just $1 minimum. Not many things of quality in this world are free. Let's get some $$$ to Abu so he can get a video ipod and make this plugin even better than it already is.

I see the bar is at just over 60% so far as of Feb 22. Not bad.

The figure includes ALL donations since 01/2006, so your's is probably included...
Anyway, it's 70% now, which is great. The goal seems to be reachable.

The 30GB model stands for about 265,-€ at amazon, maybe this model is ok for development (but i leave it to the author ).
Anyway, i will push up the currently missing 20 bucks for this one, as i'm glad to be able to ban iTunes in the future... .-)

I'll order the video iPod soon. Unfortunately I won't be at home for the next 3 or 4 weeks, due to work So don't expect tons of new ml_ipod features for video immediately.

I'll monitor this forum while 'on the road', but I won't have too much time for ml_ipod in this period (still enough for little bugfixes or enhancements, I guess )

You can continue to donate, of course. Will be spent in good German beer for happy coding sessions. And an iPod Shuffle, if the sum exceeds a certain limit (there are some Shuffle specific issues with the new iTunes versions that can only be solved if I have such a device)

BTW: Is there a black docking station available for the 5.5G iPod? It's odd to put the black iPod into a white dock...

None of the ones that I found on eBay confirmed by mail that the 80GB iPod would fit They all claimed to be for 5G and before only. Maybe just wait a bit ...

The 5.5G 80GB iPod's dimensions are identical to the 5G 60GB's. If it's specified for a 5G iPod, the 5.5G will fit as well.
