Remove *** from Classic Skin songticker
I've discussed this earlier today in the thread below:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....38#post2172138 Basically, the *** is used to separate the end of an ATF title from the beginning of the ATF title when it is scrolling during a song. If you have Rating's displayed in your ATF this causes GREAT confusion about the rating of your song. This is shown in the picture below (I took this from a post in the forum thread above): It would be greatly appreciated if the *** could be removed. Thanks. |

No, dont remove it. Instead, add a choice to have the *** or not have it. Some like the *** you know..
Also, add a choice in the Modern skin to use the "Classic Skin Songticker" there too. I mean, now the songname scrolls from one side to another (bounce), and then back (in the Modern Skin). It would be great if you added a choice there, so we can choose to have it to bounce, or have it to scroll all the time (like in the Classic Skin). |

Or better yet, why not use the old star spot to display the rating, instead of getting rid of it entirely. That way it won't confuse, but would still separate the beginning from the end of the title.
Edit: In a related vein, maybe the part on the tray tooltip or taskbar that says "Winamp" could be replaced with the rating (if present). It's safe to say that someone using winamp enough to make use of ratings probably doesn't need to remember that it's Winamp they're using. Last edited by frnzy; 17th April 2007 at 19:49. |

Ya....It doesn't have to be removed like I said above. But I just want the separator (***) to look much MORE different than the Rating *'s. Its way too confusing for anyone who wants to see their Rating's in the songticker.
Change or Remove it is my Request |

remove the ratings, problem solved.
If you don't like the music, don't rate it, remove it.

That IS NOT a solution and frankly a little rude. Ratings have many many purposes. You assume I use the stardardized rating system:
1 Star=Hate------->5 Star=Love What if I used a different spectrum for my Ratings such as: 1 Star=Like------->5 Star=Absolute Best You never know..... |

And what is the ASCII code for Smiley Faces......I don't think there is one? Also, just to mention, many of the "special" ASCII characters DO NOT work for ATF formatting. They are simply not accepted.
