msvcp71.dll not found
hey, I just updated to Winamp 5.34 today, and during installation, there was an error message that msvcp71.dll was not found. However, the installation went on, and when I tried to run winamp later, the same error message popped out, though I could still access winamp after clicking OK. Is there any way to solve this problem? btw, I am running Winamp on Windows Vista Home Premium. Attached is a screenshot of the error msg. i didn't encounter this problem with the previous version, 5.33

Doh! It looks like the new FLAC Decoder (in_flac.dll) dynamically links to msvcp71
msvcp71.dll is the MS Visual C++ 7.1 Runtime Library (which comes with .NET 2003). We'll need to unlink it for the next release, but in the meantime you can download the file from any of the links below. I've also included msvcr71.dll in the zip, which will also be required. Unzip them to either the Winamp root folder (eg. C:\Program Files\Winamp) or preferably your %system% folder %system% under WinXP = C:\Windows\system32 (I'm not sure where it is in Windows Vista, but just type %system% into the Windows address bar and hit Enter) msvcp71 | mirror 1 | mirror 2 _______________________________________________________ Update: A fixed in_flac.dll is now available There's now no longer any need to download msvcp71, just copy the new in_flac to the Winamp\Plugins folder instead :-) Update 2: This issue is now fixed in 5.34 build 1278 (silent update from build 1273) |

now you're being picky since if someone has msvcp71.dll then they generally have msvcr71.dll as well

Yes, after putting one DLL in, it gives another error. Putting that new DLL in, makes it want another...

Thank you so much. I was freaking out wondering what the heck was going on. Good thing I saved the pop up so I could remember the .dll that was missing. Thank you DJ Egg. Id also like to thank the search button
