Angry iPod Classic Coverflow Bug (we need a solution)

If you put into your iPod Classic a Various Artist compilation like a Soundtrack or a Greatest Hits ... you'll see in coverflow 1 cover for each song!!! And this makes cover flow a REALLY messy experience!!

If here, anyone found a solution/update to this problem please reply! One of the most beautiful things of the new iPod was the Cover Flow ... but is really full of bug!

Please read this post (iPod Classic - Hiding Compilation Artists):
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....19253&tstart=0

Here you can send a feedback to the Apple:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipod.html

hope that someone find a solution i don't think that apple make a new firmware right now ...

PS. Someone can fix my URL? It's important!

That's debatable; I could've done without it at least.

Cover Flow is eye candy, nothing more. It serves no practical purpose.

Windows 7 Beta
iPod touch (Second Generation), 8GB
Winamp 5.55 with ml_iPod 3.08

MAYBE if the album list was limited to the actual number of albums you had, not inflated by a factor of 5 or more (depending on how many VA albums you have) it could be usable. As it is now, it takes me nearly a minute at full finger speed on the clickwheel to get from end to end. Completely useless.

Regardless, a fix for this will have to come from Apple in the form of a firmware update, and I highly doubt we'll see it anytime soon (if at all).

Especially considering that iTunes' Cover Flow is just as buggy!

Honestly, I think Cover Flow is just an example of the big fuck up Apple made in revamping the whole iPod interface. This is definitely not an improvement! It's very buggy and lags way too much, to the point where I'll select a menu item an wait something like 5-10 seconds for it to pop up.

Terrible.

I'm just glad that the new Classics have a (dramatically) brighter screen, hold more for the same price, and don't have that shiny scratch prone/fingerprint magnet surface anymore. Those were the big selling points, imho.

similar problem

I have a related problem where my new ipod nano only seems to display the album artwork for one song per album. So coverflow works ok, but on the now playing screen there are a LOT of blanks. And it doesn't do that slideshow-y thing on the main menu. Has anyone else had this problem (or knows how to solve it)?
