Media Library and network directories
I've installed (and de-installed/re-installed) Winamp on my wife's computer and set up two watch directories, both on my computer and accessed via wireless network. The first scan worked OK, populating the media library with all ~8k5 files.
The next time my wife opened Winamp the media library was empty. The first rescan only found about 2k files. Using Total Commander she was able to double-click any of the missing media files on my machine and have them queued in Winamp. Since then the media library has been empty at every restart although rescans do now find all the files, eventually. Constant rescanning is a pain, though, as it takes a long time and causes her machine to have glacial response times. The client machine has >30GB of free disc space Can anyone suggest why the media library should be losing its data, please? PC or Motherboard make/model: Acer Aspire T600 CPU & RAM: Celeron 2.8GHz 1GB RAM Sound card or chip: No idea but not an audio problem Videocard: Onboard video. No idea of chipset but not a video problem Windows OS: XP Pro SP2 DirectX version: 9.0c Winamp version: 5.51 Winamp installation: Full Plug-in data attached |
