Can anyone direct me to why Shoutcast frequently "loses" my station? I have the Winamp and the DNAS GUI running and for some extremely frustrating reason it drops from the yp list.
The DNAS says yp has been touched but Shoutcast gives me the "cannot be found. Please search again". This has happened a LOT over the last two days and just when I think I get it back online, it falls off again. Thanks in advance! Best to start your own thread for this kind of thing so i have split it away from the previous thread.
anyway is the dsp and the server on the same machine? if yes move to network is this a wireless router? how many listeners? what is the upstream of the network? does this happen if you take the router out of the network? does your internet drop at all? |

Sorry about adding to a thread Nick.
Not using a wireless router, it's hardwired. I had to call Comcast to get them to open the ports initially as they do not like people going in to "their" modem. Also it is a modem/router so removing the router can't be done. Upstream on the other computer is 2254k. Upstream for server is 2131k. Set listeners to 20 @ 96 just to be safe. I could go 15 @ 128. Internet connection is quite stable. This seems normal to me: ******************************************************************************* ** SHOUTcast Distributed Network Audio Server ** Copyright (C) 1998-2004 Nullsoft, Inc. It just disappears from the yp. Its there for a while and then its not.
The only time I know when it happens is when someone calls me and says they can't get it off shoutcast. We have it at the house and even when it doesn't show up on shoutcast it still loads in Real player (that's all we use it for). Rock and roll is like sex, if the neighbors can't hear it why bother? |

Shoutcast won't display streams with 0 listeners right now. The search function on shoutcast.com is not showing any stations that have 0 listeners for some reason. If you had to reboot, you are SOL until it's fixed. Your server probably has a static IP that's saved in your real player, so it finds your station. If you are listening at home with real player, then you have 1 listener and it shows on the YP. If you aren't, then it won't be searchable until at least one listener is shown or they fix the problem.
For a while yesterday you couldn't search and find anything. (type a key word that appears in the top 20s list and it can't find that station) Then the genre and key word search started working late yesterday, but no stations with 0 listeners are displayed yet. classic.shoutcast.com doesn't work at all! It's been broken since thursday. Try searching for any genre, even the station displayed on the main page, and it won't show up. Hope they fix it soon. |
