Must save .pls file to disk in order to play shoutcast stations!
When I click on the "Click to Listen" button for the Shoutcast stations, I get a dialog box that asks me whether I want to save the file to disk or open it. If I click on "Open", Winamp will launch, but instead of streaming the audio, it simply opens up the last playlist I had open, and begins playing it! If the playlist is empty then it will just sit there and do nothing. However, If I save the .pls file to disk, and then open it, it works just fine. Winamp opens automatically, and starts streaming the music. I'm running Windows XP w/ IE6. Any ideas? This is very annoying.
I saw other posts regarding the Save as dialog popping up in IE5.5 and later, and I'm not sure if this is what is causing my problem or not. I did try going through the steps to remedy that problem, but since I'm running XP, things are not the same, and I don't know what to do. Also, I'm not sure if this is what's causing my problem or not. Thanks in advance, Scott Nelson |

I Figured it out! (sort of)
OK, after this happened, I started noticing that whatever I downloaded would open up it's associated viewer like this with a blank file. So, I deleted my temporary internet files and now everything is working fine. It seems that my temporary internet files were over my specified size limit, so instead of deleting the old files to make way for the new, IE would simply NOT ACCEPT any more new files!. Bad, Microsoft, bad!
