SqrSoft ACF 1.75

Has anyone else experienced a crash when clicking on the CONFIGURE button for this plugin? Here's a clip from the GPF: WINAMP caused an exception 10H in module MSVCRT.DLL at 0177:7802c8b4. The problem seems to be isolated to v1.75 since backing up to version 1.72 (build 1021) works okay. I have emailed the author twice and get no response whatsoever! And to think I was about to actually donate since this really is a great plugin. Thanks for any feedback.

Why don't you use the Crossfading direct sound output plugin that comes packed with the latest versions of winamp 2.80 ?, works perfect for me in various modes, fade out, gapless mode etc etc

Thx for the reply and suggestion Mr Jones. Peter's Direct Crossfading plug-in works but not as effectively as the one from SqrSoft. I'm an old radio jock and really like the way SqrSoft's ACF detects signal levels rather than having a fixed trip point like the others. I did notice the out_sqr.dll (ver1.75) increased to 251k from ver1.72 which is 70k and actually works without a GPF. I'm not a coder but can't imagine why such a large change in the dll. Maybe I'm get a reply from the author; then again perhaps I'll just stick with this version.

Never did get a reply from the author so, not being satisfied with the GPF that I kept getting with version 1.75, I completely uninstalled Winamp and all plug-ins. After reinstalling, along with the latest SqrSoft ACF 1.75, the configure button is now able to be pressed without any crash. Yeah I know, this should have been done the first time but I was able to workaround this by simply copying the old out_sqr.dll and out_sqr.ini file with the same results. Hopefully this will help Patrick who posted this comment:

Ver 1.7 - Crashes winamp everytime I try to configure the plug-in. Happens both in Win 98 and XP.

strange
I have yet to crash 1.75 (unless my weird winamp crashes on xp are related to it) and I've been using ACF since 1.4

so way better than directsound crossfading output

now we just need ACF for Winamp3.....

Guess I didn't mention that the previously discussed GPF [CONFIGURE] crashes were on my Win98 box although I don't think that had anything to do with it since the Winamp reinstall cured it. I do have ACF 1.75 on my XP box and (fingers crossed) haven't had any problems so far. I did try Winamp3 on my old P2/400 pc but it seems to be a bit resource intensive so I'll stick with good old 2.x.
