Cursor-mass-producing .BAT file.
Someone (I think Nini) started a thread a while ago about making a batch file that makes duplicates of cursors to save time (eg. copies close.cur to eqclose.cur and pclose.cur etc.) People said they would make a file like that and post it, but I don't think anyone did. Well, here's one I did.
Beware, this file needs to be used with caution, otherwise you could find yourself erasing cursors by accident! Although I've used it myself, I'm not promising it works perfectly. You might want to check the file just in case I made a mistake somewhere. I was going to make a safer version - comprised of several separate files: one for the CLOSE cursors, one for the TITLEBAR cursors, etc. so that you had more intimate control over which cursors you were overwriting, but I couldn't be arsed. Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny. Ok...breathing exercises........... What I mean is that the file uses a few .cur files to overwrite the rest of the .cur files. When you're working on your cursors, it's easy to forget, for instance, that you made some changes on pwscroll.cur - then you make changes to close.cur - and run the BAT so that the other CLOSE cursors will change, accidentally overwriting the changes you made to pwscroll.cur. By the way, are there cursors which are redundant? It seems to me that WSWINBUT.CUR doesn't ever get used. is that right? are there any others like that? what's the difference between VOLBAL.CUR and VOLBAR.CUR? And does winamp accept 256 cursors, as well as true color etc.? Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny. Hope you don't mind, dbleja, I created CursorMultiply out of your basic idea.
It checks all base cursors are present, and terminates if not with a message. Before overwriting any files, a warning is displayed and the user is given the choice to overwrite or quit. If you wanna use it, unzip all files in the archive to the right directory and run CURMULTI.BAT. ------- I did this because it will come in use to me and I wanted it to be more powerful. This isn't I need to be better than you thing. I hope you have no objections. Thanks for the original file and the idea. |

I'm not sure I'm clear on this overwriting thing
how about someone make me a program that renames all of my cursors from .ani to .cur and back again - but I guess I really don't need that either since you can save from microangelo in the cursor animator thingie by just naming it .cur (and can reopen it too) and since all of my cursors are generally created and saved in Animation Shop - the only need I have for the actual cursor itself is to set the hot spot and save it I have no use for to overwrite volbal and volbar - one is useless, can't recall which offhand - I always just save both - the wswinbut is useless - there are others that I believe are useless as well, but I tend to save them anyway, just in case someone goes and tosses a code in winamp somewhere that makes them work, that way I won't have to go back and update with them - the most often missing one is either menu or mmenu or something - there should be two different menu cursors (one works in ws mode)Winamp reads 256 and true color cursors providing your monitor resolution supports them someone should build in a custom skin archive icon option ![]() i'm rambling ![]() what was the topic again? If anyone can find any of the skins I made please email them to Forevever@aol.com I can't remember all the names but specifically hunting for Lascivious, and DEVOUR (compilation with Jax) and any in the Impulse series which had 6 total. Auriferous, Gilt, Impulse, Nadir, and 2 others I can't remember but you dig. |

Here you go, two BAT files to put inside your skin folder. When you click them they will rename all WSZ files in that folder to ZIP, (the second file will do vice versa) However, I strongly recommend that when you are working on a skin, you don't have it zipped. winamp reads folders as well as ZIPs and WSZs. So just put a folder called "blah-blah" in the skins directory, and put the skin files in there. That way, you just work on those files - with Winamp's skin browser open - and to see the changes on Winamp, all you need to do is reload the skin. You only need to worry about coverting from WSZ to ZIP or vice-versa once - at the very end when you've finished. Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.
