btw: would it be a prob to include a new site, where you can publish skins that are NOT completely skinned?

Frozen skins: Gravestone Betaskins: Mushroom ::-:: The Claw
In development: TechnodropFinished: Draculas Helmet (<-- still waiting for some color themes!) ::-:: Hal's eye

Kind of defeats the object of having a minimum requirement in the first place if you do that.

"these are the minimum requirements for skins on this site...blah blah, but don't worry if you don't/can't/won't meet those, you can still submit it to this site, but in this section which will get just as much publicity as the regular sections, but you only need to put in half the effort in the first place"

Flawed logic.

Menus use win32 defaults, I did ask if there was a good reason for this, but never got a reply, probably same answer for the prefs window as well, win32 style.

Tooltips are though.

lol
at least we know that a skin can work in wa3 & 5 without too many changes and we can ignore that the menus are win32 style in wa5

damn right

The readabilty of the menu is very important to the average user, and on many wa3 skins, the menus are hard to read.

i also agree. skinned menu's are metrosexual. dressed up all frilly, using syle gel and shit like that.

and about a seperate section for unfinished, i doubt it would be as publicized as the others because its not finished. Especially if you stuck a warning above the skins saying this skin is not finished, or something like that.

There will not be a section for unfinnished skins. A skin either meets the requirements and gets published, or it does not and won't get published.

If you want to show of your unfinnished skin, and I can't think of a solid reason why except for the oooh and aaah factor, keep it to the forum.

You won't see me arguing there, but I know why Rontz asked about it. and it has nothing to do with the "oooh and aaah factor". But several of us rely on other ppl (more the better) as a community to improve on projects. (I tend to use community responce/lack of to judge if i should bother continuing with a project or not.)

Hey guys. I geuss it is the wrong place to ask this question but id do . My question is when will be able to use all maki commands for winamp5. As most of you coder and other guys know some commands deosn't work on winamp 5 like getalpha()and some other. This results that a lot of effects can´t be coded with maki any more. It is a very big problem. I just downlaoded winamp 5.01 and they are still not supported. Do you know another function to get the alpha?

You guys are so far up your own ass you've lost sight of why people bother to skin anything in the first place.

I'm less and less inclined to bother.

Thank God that other sites don't have such a high opinion of themselves.

people make skins to make something that they are proud of, all winamp is doing by setting requirements is getting rid of crappy skins that don't deserve to be recognized by other skinners, so if you can't see that then you must have your head up your own ass judge...

good, one less shitty skin we have to see

actually that is quite unfortunate because instead of showcaseing good work they are cluttering up their servers with shit

rhino, in my eyes you're totally wrong!
every skin can get submitted, as long as it's completely skinned, no matter how good or bad it is.
you can see the result in winamp's skin section: MANY crappy skins all over the place and a few good ones.
the only difference to the winamp3 skin section is, that they're more complete. nothing else. perhaps other sites get their servers stuffed with many skins, but they also have more good skins than winamp.com. even if they're not completely skinned.
