Is that clear soco, or is the bottle empty?

...and today's purchase was bacon cheesburger mix burgers at the supermarket - the butchers take the highest grade ground chuck, then mix it with shreaded cheese, shreaded bacon, and spices and form it into burgers for you, so all you have to do is go home, light up the grill and toss them on.

They're priced at $4.75 per pound, and that's about two rather large burgers. I bought 8 burgers worth for us and the neighbors to cook up tomorrow.

I'd love to adapt all of the controls to a real, full sized guitar as the one that comes with the game is barely as big as a ukulele.

^odd combination...

I got a 12" Calphalon One frying pan at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Usually the price is $134 and some change, but since it had a scratch on the underside, they had it on clearance for $20. Best part is, I can return it at a different B,B & B store for a brand new one if I ever want to. Not bad, eh?

^what are those?^ Some kind of Hydroco or *********** or pain killer of some sort?

I fried some burgers in that new pan. They tasted just like the burgers I fry in my old $9 Revere brand pan, but I will say they cooked faster at a lower temperature and the pan cleaned easier than the cheap one.

Just got a craving for some beef jerky for some strange reason; store was closed, so I pounded on the neighbors' door and got some deer jerky. He didn't seem happy that I would come on a non-weekend this late just for that, but either way I owe him a favor now. So, since I didn't pay with money, does that still say I "bought" something from him, considering I'll end up paying in the long run? In other words does this belong in this thread, or should I just edit this post to say I bought gasoline a few hours ago for an insane price of $2.74/gal.?

The gasoline in california is a lot more expensive. Gas usually costs more than three dollars.

Stop whining, get a Smart.

Just build a wall around your whole country and put a roof on top, but make sure it's air-tight. Then you can pollute all you want.

UK Prices per litre. (Average, Min, Max)

Unleaded: 91.6p 86.9p 100.0p
Diesel: 94.3p 89.9p 104.9p
LRP: 95.6p 89.9p 99.9p
Super: 97.8p 89.9p 106.9p
LPG: 45.7p 39.9p 49.9p

And 1 UK£ = 1.9742 US$, 1 litres = 0.264172051 US gallon.

Do the math and tell me things are bad.

Hmmmmmm. Whats that? LPG I would guess as liquid propane gas ... but then I question that because of LRP. Plus propane in a car = bad idea.

edit: never mind. Gotta love google!!!

Should have remembered petrol.

Actually the money from the fuel tax dose not go into the public transport system. In fact the bus companies get a special rebate on the tax THEY pay on there fuel.

Plus, your US rail and bus companies rely on government handouts. Only 38% of there funding comes from there fares.

So much for Private enterprise eh?

We have few mass transit systems, and for 99% of the population, they're not an option.
Where we have tried, they've failed.

So are you implying that your mass transit systems are self-sufficient?

Double the amount you pay for gas here in the US and tack another buck or three onto it. That's about what they pay in England per gallon of gas (petrol).

People there don't complain all that much, because they use mass transportation a shitload more than we do. Their system is extremely successful.

European infrastructure is quite a bit different than that in the United States. Urban centers by and large are closer together than those in the U.S., and as such it makes sense to have public transportation.

Also keep in mind that Europe has far different transportation expectancies in general. In most of Europe, the standard car has something like a 1.6l diesel or gasoline engine, and probably gets 35 or 40mpg.

The average car sold here in America has probably twice the displacement (~3.0 liters average, I'd say), and gets probably half or two thirds the mileage. And by and large, Americans don't like diesel cars (trucks are another story).

Motorcycles and bicycles are also far more prevalent in Europe. This is a major difference, as here in the States, motorcycles and bicycles are often regarded as items of recreation, or toys. In Europe, they're used as serious transportation. I'd like to see more of this in the U.S., and think it would be a great step in the right direction.

Exactly. Whenever this discussion comes up, people seem to forget that England is about the size of the state of Georgia. That's one of fifty states.

But anyways, this thread isn't for discussing this topic again. If everyone wants to continue debating gas prices, please find one of the several other threads that are floating around these forums.

Back on topic... Last purchased:
