Michigan. I am quite picky about yellow fin ... needs to be caught same day and not frozen. When it cook it, it barely touches the pan. Getting something that fresh around these parts is difficult at best. A few weeks ago I was swimming with schools of them

London broil is easy ... just need some good meat and a lil bit of red wine and sherry vinegar ... and potatoes.

Still dunno what I am going to have, and time is drawing near...

For the past 3 days, today and a couple days after today, I've been working on this:

It goes well with any entree I add it to, and I never get sick of it. I'll attach a recipe. The recipe makes 2-3 of what you see in the picture, so you might want to bring the numbers down or wait till you have company.

Damn, that does look good swingdjted .... except for those small trees you got on the plate. Love steps 7-9 as well.

I have decided: five spice ginger tri-tip with pineapple barbecue sauce.

Most people I give that to say there's 3 things I should add and three things I should have left out. It's pretty versatile, and can be changed in any number of ways.

That pasta salad looks fantastically tasty, healthy and nutritious.
So yet again i've opted for roadside kebab vendors.

yeah, I know ... sometimes I get really carried away.

Though I am indeed a chemist by trade, when my wife gets done with her residency (ie stops earning peanuts for money), I would love to open a restaurant. I simply love to cook. My wife reminds me on a daily basis how lucky she is that she has a husband that likes to cook (and is supposedly good at it ... I dunno, I always think I can do better). The only thing I need to do is get Gordon Ramsey to invest in me ... any ideas!?!??!

Anyway, you're welcome anytime Widdy ... just get here and I'll make something.

P.S. the tri-tip turned yout nummie. Hotter then the blazes of hell, but damn! Should have dealt with the cold and cooked it on the grill as opposed to oven broiled (meat was tougher than it should have been for a tri-tip).

Peppered turkey breast and gravy over rice.

With the advent of this thread, I've stepped back and taken a good look at the utter crap that I've been eating lately. In an effort to save prep time, I've resorted to meals from a can and other frozen death bombs. That's why the turkey, lots and lots of it did I buy along with salads.
We're entering that time of year when we pour very little concrete and the below-zero temps basically lead to hibernation when Chev packs on the pounds, so I'm also about to order a home gym.
This winter also marks my 20th year of snowboarding

Less feast and more fitness.

Tonight it's Castleberry's Beef Stew (not on recall list) over homemade noodles with grated parmesan cheese. It will be the last Castleberry's product we'll get (if fact it was the only one), not because of the recall of their other products, but because there is so much sodium and fat in their stew (which is probably why it tastes so good).

Red meat, 140 for rare; 145 for medium rare ... dunno anything past that. I am sure 180 would turn her into charred carbon.

This thread makes me hungry.

And I've actually been doing relatively well lately. I managed to get my weight back down below 220 pounds. I'm aiming for 200. I've cut back on the sodas and large amounts of food, but I still can't pass up Mexican once in a while. And the pbj sammiches I had last night aren't helping much, either.

I lived most of my life without the glory that is the pbj sammich ever entering my soul.
I was finally saved by a girl from Brooklyn, St Joan of blessed memory.

Last night was chicken, pan fried with tomatoes, onions, garlic and black olives. Plain cooked rice.

Yet another item packed with calories. I have a real hard time saying no to these buggers, but today I saw some in a vending machine and walked past them getting just coffee instead.
