Update function?

I'm using Filehippo's Update Checker and SUMo to check for software updates. They both show me that Winamp 5.6 is out, but Winamp itself doesn't tell me anything about an update.

Could you please add a "check for updates" entry in one of the menus? As it is now with new versions, a window occasionally pops up in Winamp after a few days if at all, telling me to update.

There is...

Winamp > Ctrl+P (for Preferences) > General Preferences > in the right pane there should be a "Check for new versions of Winamp at startup" option.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

the update prompt is normally made active a while after a new release happens so that if there are any changes or the need to do bug fixes in what has been released then it can be done before the main update is pushed out to everyone (without annoying everyone with multiple update prompts over a few days). like 5.6 has already had 3 builds and an update pack released so i wouldn't be surprised to see a newer 'final' version within a few days as has gone before with the 5.xx1 type releases.
