shoutcast server on android?

Hi,

so i have a shoutcast server, and i am planning an android app for it. id like to stream on android, but i was told that m3u isnt supported. i tried to download it as mp3, but the download never stops because the stream never stops. is there an easier way to do it?

what you're looking for is not a shoutcast server in that case, it's a shoutcast client (technically)

m3u to my knowledge is supported on the Android platform. though if clients are having issues then depending on what / where you're providing the stream from then a pls or even the raw url of the stream from the playlist would be the better option to be providing for Android clients (as seems to be what you're referring to).

If you're developing the android app, the trick is to use the the MediaPlayer and not the AudioManager APIs (illogical, but it works)
