stoopid sites

okay. you know those sites that claim that you have a secret admirer, and all you have to do is enter a couple of email addresses and you'll find out who they are? well i got one of those, and out of pure curiousity i click it. when i get there, i find out that i dont enter names, i have to enter email addresses to find out who it is (like i said earlier)... except the thing is that i know NOBODY'S email address. so i enter about 40 differations of kelseybcool1...2...3...etc @yahoo.com to find out who it is, except in the end you have to have an email address MATCH to find out if its the right person.... GAH!!!!!!!! now i have to keep a watch out for a girl (jeebus i hope its a girl) that:

is between 15 and 19 years old
likes to spend free time doing Biking
perfect first date is Dinner and a movie
has this much education: Some High School
does this kind of work: Student
hair is Gray
perfect "getaway" date is A safari in Africa
has Multicolored eyes
describes his/her sense of humor like this: I'm a goofball
has this type of pet: Dogs
would do the following if he/she won the lottery: Get lots of expensive "toys"

jeebus christ. almost all the people i know are between 15 and 19. i know of NOBODY that know my email address that has grey hair.... this is the cruelest thing that has ever been done to me. GAH!

i got one too...

but i got it on an old email address, that i haven't given out to friends since i left highschool two years ago, and have been using for junkmail since. so there's a chance it's junkmail, and a chance it's legit...

i signed up for the hell of it (it's a junkmail account, after all... the worst that could happen is i get more junkmail!), and sent a crush out to a different email address that i have. and the site works, so there's a good chance it's legit (i made a match... myself and my other self!).

now, i can only REMEMBER a handful of girls that i knew from highschool, and out of that handful, i don't remember ANY of their email addresses. so i can't make the match. there's a possibility that it could be anyone, though, because the email address i got it on was put up on the castlist when i did school plays.

but i decided this: if said girl likes me after two years, more power to her. but i'm not gonna bust my ass trying to figure out her email address. obviously she knows mine. let her email me personally and i'll set up a meeting to see if there's still some chemistry.

so in closing, MEH to junkmail, and MEH to the girl for sending this ridiculous thing out, and MEH to the stupid site for using email addresses instead of names, and not allowing other features such as "private messages" (with which i could contact the girl without guessing, telling her to email me personally), "hints" (to aid in the guessing of the crusher), and a giant "meh" button to say "i'm not interested".

MEH!

Sounds to me like the site is more interested in collecting the emails you put in so they can be sold as working for spammers...

Not that I'm cynical or anything.

I find it soooooooooo funny when I get sms' to my mobile saying "!you have a secret admirer, call 090xxxxxxxxx to find out who i am"

For people who dont know, 090 number in the UK charge around £1.50 ($2.25 USD) per minute!!

I've never had one of them... I guess I have no secret admirer

Well, either that or my number hasn't (yet) made it's way onto spam lists...

I like the idea of putting in webmaster@whateversiteyourevisiting.com in the email adress field when you get mail like that.

Yeah, Vodafone would be correct. It was one of those numbers that changed from 04... to 077... (annoyingly) a while back.

I can't get a signal on any other network where I live (except recently Orange, who have put a transmitter in the field out the back of my house, thus devaluing the property. grrr.)
