3D Simulation Software

I am currently working on a Design project for my university, which basically involves computer-simulation of a robot for a given set of criteria. Do you know any good 3D-Simulation software available for this purpose?

Bryce, but I suspect it wouldn't be enough for something very advanced. 3ds Studio max, and cinema 4d would be good

Bryce won't be able to do any simulations. If you want good mechanical control, I would recommend a cad/solid-modeling program designed for mechanical renderings (SolidWorks is an example).
