Our good friend GoC has decided to part with his toploading NES and gave it to me a few hours ago. Now I've got TWO! Mwahaha. It's in great shape, and even has one of the original dogbone style controllers with it. He also gave me a Super Scope for my SNES, too.

@GoC:
Next time we meet up, I need to pick up the sight aiming deal that attaches to the side of the Scope, though. I forgot to grab that this evening. We can do that when I bring that cable equipment over, though, so it's no big deal. Oh, and thanks for the Bud Light, too.

*updates system list*

3 GameCubes (one Platinum, one Jet, one Jet w/ bundled Zelda disc)
3 N64s (two original, one Smoke)
5 SNESs (three originals, two GenII)
6 NESs (four originals, two GenII)
1 Virtual Boy
3 GBA-SPs (one Platinum, one Cobalt, one dual-tone Platinum/Onyx)
1 GBA (Platinum)
1 Game Boy Color (Atomic Purple)
2 Game Boy Pockets (one Black, one Clear)
1 Game Boy (original)

18 consoles and 8 portables.

I've got that top loading NES and no I will not part with it on my life. I could use a second gen SNES and a first gen NES to round out my set up.

what praytell are the other two portables you have ordered. I doubt its a PSP or a Gamegear so I suppose its one of the color variations of the ds lite available only in Japan or maybe a GBA MICRO. From what I have read neither the ds or its games are region encoded so the only peril one faces from importing one is a higher price... so is that what you did?

I know there's probably a better thread for this, but I didn't feel like digging through the GC to find one.

Check out what I just got:

DSCF1214.jpg

It's a replica of the Game & Watch games of the 1980s. I had to get one.

I've often thought about buying an original game & watch for pure nostalgia reasons alone, particulary the one I used to own as a kid that I traded with one of my mates, but they sell for stupid money for decent conditioned ones...

As much as I'd love to have an original Game & Watch, $10 is much better than $125... plus, the new one is much smaller. And I don't ever plan on taking this one out of the package. I figure that it'll be worth nearly as much as the original Game & Watches after about twenty years.

I played it some just a little bit ago. Pretty slick game! Fun, simple gameplay, nice stereo sound, smooth graphics, and the rumble pak is a very nice addition as well. I didn't even realize that it was included with the game.

I do have a complaint, though. Since this is the first game I bought for the DS, I didn't realize this until now... The DS should officially be considered a to be a computer simply for the fact that the damn thing has to be rebooted. Wtf is up with that?
