Maki Editor v1.0

Hey
Here's another reason to download the .NET framework

Anyway, here are its features:
  • Built in compilers (you can compile with #488 or 5.02)
  • Syntax highlighting (v. customizable)
  • Open multiple files
  • Handy functions list
  • Regex replace
  • Gives you info on a function when you click on it in your code
  • Integrated Maki cheat downloader
  • Integrated updater (Not fully functional yet)

Here are the bugs:
  • You can't close documents
  • Syntax refresh takes a while (I can't fix this, but it looks pretty cool )
  • A couple more (can't remember all atm )

And a screenshot:

You need the .NET framework (Download .NET).

And by downloading my program, you agree that I can't be held responsible for any harm it causes to your computer (It most likely won't).
Download

Please give me advice, and report bugs you find
The bugs I have listed I will try and fix

-Hammerhead

Edit: There are only 2 maki cheats availible ATM, I need permissions before I add more, so wait a bit.

I am now making the program interact with the code you type, for example if you define a layer, eg:

PHP Code:
Global Layer x
it is registered when you type in a fullstop or click a button.
Then, when you type something like this:

PHP Code:
x
a list shows up telling you what functions it has!

Nice, but my only objection is this:

LEARN A REAL PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE!

Most of the people here use Winamp because they don't want to be locked into Mickysoft's little world of horror.

</rant>

Back to the real world:

I'll get it when a nice open-source version comes out

If I recompiled it and posted it here with Mono would you use it? (Mono = an open source version of the .NET framework for Linux).

I am using C# because I find the syntax much easier to understand than C++, although when it comes down to it, C# could be called C++ with more features.

That would be nice

Sorry, I just get worked up about this issue sometimes... The more people make software that requires it, the more people get locked into this proprietary universe.

Hey hammer. The app is really good but please take all that visual gimmies like animations etc. away or make a option to set them of. That all makes the app to slow. I have a P4 with 2.4 Ghz and it is slow on my machine. Think about it, a programmer is not interseted in a good looking editor, but in a functional one good luck with the app

Hi, I thought I'd give this a go tonight, since syntax highlighting is nice. It works ok for smaller files, but my main script in my current skin I'm working on is 23k, and it crashes upon loading this script... I suspect it's because of this size?

Is there some sort of fix avalible?

Also, has anyone got Syntax Highlighting with MAKI working OK in the latest editplus? If not, I'm tempted to give it a go myself when I get the time.

Sorry for the late reply, I only just saw your post.

Yes, it's because of the size - 23k means it has to parse 23k of text by highlighting each word and making it a different colour according to a syntax file.

I got carlos' syntax file working on editplus 2.11..

hammerhead: I thought that would be the case, I've left it for around 2 minutes and it still hung. I'll stick with editplus for the meantime. Speaking of editplus...

carlosp: could you please email me the MAKI syntax file for edit plus... heres my e-mail:

Thanx
