      Hi

Howzit....Whatzit...what tha...? How to tune up, and keep your Winamp player humming along. Search this Forum to find others who have driven down your road and have advice and tips to help you out.

What type of files are they? mp3, other?

If wma or m4a, are they drm-protected?

Can you provide a link to a sample file for us?

      Are you using Winamp 5.572?
(please attach your List of Plugins - see above link for details)

      What's your Windows OS?

Are the files stored in a folder with write-access/privileges?
Do the files themselves maybe have the read-only attribute?

Thanks DJ Egg for your support

        - Files are mp3
        - they are not protected files
        - files are in my home network folder; how can I give you a link?
        - No, I'm still using 5.56 version as I've purchased the PRO but there's no clear procedure to upgrade the PRO version
        - OS is Window VISTA
        - Files are free

my undrstanding is that Winamp corrupt the file when try to add TAG information; he stops during the routine.

        Other questions:

          Re: sample file

You can upload one of them to somewhere like mediafire.com, sendspace.com or dropbox.com and provide the link here
(don't worry if the link just shows as 'url submitted by uder', mods & admin can still see the url)

          Re: upgrading Pro

          www.winamp.com/player

          Under "Go Pro", it says:

Already own Winamp and need to upgrade?

          Re: List of plugins

We don't just require the log to see what 3rd-party plugins are installed, if any.
The log also provides us with a list of 1st-party plugins and lots of other useful information about your Winamp installation.

Though I guess we'd also need someone on the Dev/QA team to test using the Auto-Tag feature with files on a network drive.
I don't have a network drive personally, just an external usb drive....
