Fullscreen and Fake Fullscreen issue in Windows 7 x64

I can confirm that neither fullscreen or fake fullscreen works properly for more than 30 seconds under Windows 7 x64 if you continue to do anything else on your computer on a secondary monitor. As soon as an Aero effect is initiated (minimizing, maximizing, closing windows etc) it causes the milkdrop visualization to flicker and eventually after about 30 seconds, completely freeze. There was no such problems in Vista x64 with the same winamp version (5.572), graphics card, graphics drivers, and with full Aero enabled.

I can also confirm the problem is Graphics Card and Graphics driver independent. I have troubleshooted with multiple ATI and Nivida cards and drivers, it is strictly a Winamp(milkdrop) + Windows 7 (possibly Aero related) issue, that did NOT exist in vista.

Anyone else care to recreate?:

1) Must have Windows 7 x64 (vanilla installation with all defaults enabled, like Aero, and Desktop cycling)
2) Must have dual monitors
3) Set milkdrop to fullscreen, or fake fullscreen on your secondary monitor.
4) Continue to use your computer on your primary monitor to surf the web, open documents, or any other basic windows functionality, while milkdrop continues to run on the secondary monitor
5) Milkdrop will work fine for about 30 seconds to 60 seconds, and then will eventually completely freeze

This problem did not occur in Windows Vista x64. You could run milkdrop in fake full screen and continue using your computer without issue. I miss this feature GREATLY.

Bumping this because I have the exact same issue I can't find a solution or even know if this is a known bug of any sort.

I've even tried on two different installs with Windows 7 (x86 and x64), made sure my system was completely up to date (windows, drivers, winamp software).
Integrated with winamp, it works fine. But no matter what settings I've tried winamp crashes in a few moments of running milkdrop full screen.

At the very least I'd like to know that the developers are aware of this issue and working on it.

The drivers are the latest (I updated yesterday just to be sure it still wasn't a driver issue)
CPU: Dual Xeons 3.66 GHz with Hyper Threading (these chips are based off of the last P4 revision)
RAM: 4GB
GPU: GeForce 9600 GSO (1GB) & Dual Monitors
OS: Win7
Sound: Creative X-fi

And actually something that may be at fault here just popped in my head. I'm using DisplayFusion for additional dual monitor functions. That could be interfering. I'll test it once I get home and report back if I got it working.

I can't manage to duplicate the issue.

My hardware specs are a tad different than yours though.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 3.0 @ 4.0
RAM: 4 gigs @ 2000 MHz DDR3
GPU: 2 x Asus GTX 260

I run this in SLI, so both of my screens are connected to the same GPU.

Oddly enough I just happened to check the forums today, first time in over 6 months. I tested this out, and I'm unable to duplicate the issue, still.

Win7, x64 SP1 feel free to hit up the profile for various forms of instant messenging

Scratch that, apperently I have to make 11 more posts before I can put that stuff in my profile.

Update, it seems to work on both full screen, *and* fake full screen.

If you're on an ATI Mobility, that must mean you're on a laptop right? if that's the case, try swapping your primary monitor to the external, if that isn't preferable, see about getting some system monitor software to see if it's CPU or GPU overload that's making it crash.
