Closing Winamp does not stop CD's

I'm using Winamp 3.0(d) build 488. I'm using p3 1 GHz with 256 mb RAM, Windows 2000 service pack 4.

I didn't see this posted anywhere, so forgive me if it's a repeat.

Whenever I'm playing a CD, the CD will continue to run after Winamp is closed. The only way to stop it is to wait for the current track to end or eject the CD. I've uninstalled and installed a few times, to no avail. This happens 100% of the time.

From: Winam3 FAQ

AudioCDs (read in analog mode) do not stop when Winamp exits. (Unresolved)
Remember to press Stop before exiting Winamp.
-or-
Try the following in Winamp3...
1. Ctrl+P (for preferences)
2. Audio > CD playback
3. checkmark 'Enable CD audio extraction'
4. Close & restart Winamp
The audio extraction feature is not compatible with all CDROM/Players so if get error messages or hear no sound, uncheck 'Enable CD audio extraction'. Then close and restart Winamp.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.
