Hi peoples,

I have the same problem. Was expecting to see album art somewhere, but no sign. Have searched all drop down indexes but can't find any info.
I have columns in Media Library showing Artist, Album, Track, Disc, Title, Length, Genre, Title, etc.
Have a playlist window showing index no., Artist - title, time, would like to see Album title here too..
Have an album art window, showing a llama.
And the main Winamp window.

I need to produce lists that I can distribute to friends, I like the HTML output from the Playlist window - misc - Generate HTML report, but this doesn't show the Album title, just artist, song, and length. (How do I copy this to excel with delimited items [Artist, album, song, length] in seperate cells?)

To set up an album art view...

Winamp -> Media Library -> Local Media views...

Either edit an existing view (eg. Audio)
or create a new view.

To create a new view, right-click Local Media, and select "Add smart view".

To edit a view, right-click it in the Tree (left pane) and select "Edit View".

Choices...

Choose a preset = Simple album

Or...

Type in "Album Art" in the "Name" field,
Select: Filters = Two
Album Artist / Album Art

Click OK

You can then optionally drag the panes to the left and downwards to hide the Artist & Track panes, so it just shows the Album Art pane.

Or, for an existing view such as "Audio", just click the middle of the 3 buttons at the top (just above the Artist pane):
Select Filters & Panes -> Album Artist / Album Art (or whatever).

Or for a simple album art view, click the first "Toggle album art view" button.

Or just read the FAQ

Naturally, you'll also need to have all the album art images too.
They won't just automagically appear....

@Roadie 58

Winamp -> Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Titles:
Advanced Title Formatting

http://media.winamp.com/main/help/50/atf/atf.htm

http://media.winamp.com/main/help/50...f.htm#examples

Standard ATF syntax

Syntax: [%artist% - ][%album% - ][$num(%track%,2) - ]$if2(%title%,$filepart(%filename%))
Example: Pink Floyd - Animals - 02 - Dogs

DJ Egg,

Many thanks for your replies, answered a lot of questions, and made a new subscriber happy..
Just got a 1000+ CD's to rip now!!

Final question - How do I turn off Windows Media Player, every time I enter a CD it opens and tries to rip it. I've cleared all the tick boxes in WMP but it still keeps going..

It depends on your Windows OS...

WinXP
My Computer -> CD Drive -> (Rt-click) -> Properties -> Autoplay tab:
Select "Music CD" from the drop-down menu
Assuming "Select an action to perform" is checkmarked (and not "Prompt me each time..."),
Select either "Play using Winamp" or "Take no action" from the options underneath
(sounds like you've got "Rip music from CD using WMP" highlighted)

Win7
Control Panel -> AutoPlay:
Audio CD -> change setting to taste
